See my previous post. Cutting wages isn't a financial decision. It's necessary to comply with PL rules. There are no such PL rules regarding transfer spending.

He most definitely warrants the risk if not for his current leven then for his potential. Haven't seen a player that accomplished at such a young age since the original Ronaldo. The guy at 17 is a bonafide world class player. Even Messi only started really producing in 2006/2007 when he was 19 turning 20.

Edit: Worst comes to worst, with the way football has been going we will soon be seeing players regulary going for well over 100m, even if he flops recouping the fee it would take to get him would be pretty simple. More so especially if you look at the prices average players are going for nowadays.

The Sun (yeah I know), are running a story that we haven't actually made a bid for Mbappe - perhaps it was one of AW's 'enquiries' to see if he was available like he did a few years ago re Gotze & Hazard for 35m.

Just another thought - if we are prepared to enquire / bid on a raw talent on a break out season for 87m, then If that bid wasn't successful I'd expect to see similar bids for players of similar stature / quality - Morata, Bellotti, Icardi, Griezmann, Aubameyang, James, Isco etc. IIRC Bellotti's release clause is 85m.

We're going to have to bid big regardless, guys like Mahrez and Lacazette are being talked about in the £50m bracket so anyone top drawer, potential or otherwise, is going to cost a fortune.

It was confirmed by Dortmund that we made an offer for Gotze the summer before he went to Bayern Munich. And with Eden Hazard, he had a release clause that we met, but we pulled out when we realised City, United and Chelsea were offering more a week than we could even dream of getting near at the time.

Pretty sure we didn't pull out, Hazard just chose Chelsea because they offered more and was European champions at that time. We went in late to activate his release clause and as much as we could offer in wages already.

Talk of bids meaningless in these type of situations especially if we are under rival bids. I am cynical enough about the club at this stage that this is so they can point at it as evidence of their ambitions if only the players wanted to join our club would sell but we are serious so stop having ago at the board/manager and get behind us.

Doubt it's fake. If you search Twitter, you'll find tweets from various different users reacting to Mbappe liking the tweet around the time the tweet was sent. It's likely he liked and then unliked. It's indicative of fuck all, mind you.

Also, he's following various players from various teams on Instagram so that obviously means fuck all as well.
