Yes but Dortmund have a better chance of winning their league than we have at winning ours, judging by recent history. So you have to consider both the pull and push factors in that decision .
Every dynamic is different but the end result of lewondowski going to Bayern was the same. And any moral highground gained disappeared. If they sold lewondosski and bought Griezmann or a similar high profile player they'd be closer to Bayern today.
Well sure, if we sold Sanchez and signed Suarez that would be great too but the reality is that's not going to happen just like Dortmund wouldn't have signed Griezmann. The reality is we'll probably sign Lemar/Mahrez, both who we can sign anyway and both who are a good few levels below that of Sanchez.
The "we're not going to win the league anyway" line is a nonsense too. We should be giving ourselves the best chance to do it and that means keeping Sanchez.
Could dortmund have signed some great players for £40million of coarse they could and they have done in the past. Giezman was just an example.
If we sell Sanchez we end up with egg on our face, it's bad. If we keep him and he leaves on a free to our biggest rivals we end up with just as much egg on our face. Both are teriible options, all the media crap towards the business end of the season will do a lot of damage to moral if he stays. If he goes obviouly we're without a great player for the full season.
Best option he stays but if he goes i said at the start of the summer we may be able to use him in a swap to help lure a costa or morata style replacement that would be otherwise hard to bag. It's a shame Real don't seem to be after him.
