It has an absent midfield, and in Aaron Ramsey a player that relies on players ahead of him holding up play for his late runs. I'm not sure Lacazette will play to that strength (like Giroud) does, and in turn you're left with Sanchez and Lacazette as your only goal threats. Not sure those two would score enough to overcome the 2-3 goals we'll ship every week with a Xhaka/Ramsey midfield.

That's the thing though. What the team is lacking is discipline, organization, a plan, an identity. It's missing a sound mentality and a hunger to win. It's not missing talent or skill or physicality or experience.

I think Lacazette and Ramsey could form a great partnership. The guy's hold-up play is underrated just because he's little.

Anyway, none of it matters because Lacazette is a left winger and Ramsey plays up top.

Think Spurs are stronger overall.

Was looking through their squad and man for man it's probably the first time we don't win clear cut on paper. Sad truth.

Anyway, fair play to Swansea. Amazing deal to get Renato Sanches. WBA also intercepted Leicester's deal for Krychowiak.

Apparently, Swansea are paying Bayern 8.5m euros loan fee with no option to buy.

Burnley almost signed Gabriel Barbosa but move failed due to work permit issues.

Why are all these bottom clubs so ambitious?

Because they have the means financially. Why not try to try and do as good as you possibly can?

A much better question would be why are we so painfully unambitious?

Spurs confirm Aurier

Good signing

Meanwhile back at the Emirates Wengs is bigging up Elneny

Yup, U-turning on his previous denial of Elneny as a central defender. Now he's saying: “I will use him as a central defender in a three or in midfield."

Fuck you Wenger you utter troll.

That after accepting a £10m bid for him from Leicester a few weeks back.

Just how messed up can things get

that article is a few weeks old fwiw. still awful timing to re-post something like that

Its classic Wenger to take a guy like Elneny, never give him a real go in his proper position and then shoe horn him in somewhere he'll look shit. Why would anyone want to play for him these days?

psg paying up front for mbappe apparently. someone big must be leaving psg, maybe di maria or draxler

Very little on Coutinho today. He may actually end up staying at Liverpool.

It would appear so as Barcelona are now chasing Dybala

Chelsea are getting Davide Zappacosta. Think he's gonna prove to be a very good signing for them. Underrated player.

Think you read that story wrong Klaus, its Chelsea are trying to zappa Costa.

Sancho has gone to Dortmund.

Apparently Andre Gomes to Sp*rs

Llorente as well to Sprs. They will really make a fist at the title this time. Y**nited 1, Sp*rs 2 - I could stop watching football if the table turns out that way at the end of the season.

Look on the bright side Wooly, one of United, Spurs, Liverpool or Chelsea is going to miss out on CL football next season.

I thought he was going to sign for us! 😆

Neymar-Cavani-Mbappé

Time to be a PSG supporter.

I'm with the woolster as i find it annoying that spuds and pool are able to identify their targets and, more importantly, get them quickly without paying through the nose.
Kolasinac, apart, these targets are not even as low profile as Mustafi and Xhaka yet they get them with a minimum of fuss at a fraction of the cost our transfer ("Trigger") team would manage.
It cannot be CL status alone as we've had that and ended up with the likes of chamack and gervinho plus no midfield for 10 years.

Loan with an option to buy apparently. You can bet Monaco have received a premium for it on top

Isn't that just a trick to get around FFP?

Yes. The clause is obligatory if they avoid relegation 😆

I think so too. Which is why Monaco would demand a fee on top for getting in on PSG's little game

Spurs sign Llorente and are moving for Andre Gomes

Looked clumsy at Barca (to be fair even Cesc didn't look the most technically accomplished over there) but was quality for Valencia. Even remember wishlisting him after a MOTM performance against Madrid. Hope he doesn't replicate those sort of performances for Spurs

I thought Chelsea were in for Llorente? Is it just me or have Chelsea been unable to nab their targets this window?

Barkley changed his mind about signing for them during his medical too 😆

According to SSN. He's definitely rejected them though, but not sure i beleive he had an epiphany about what a horrible club he was joining half was through his medical.

Barkley looked set to join the Blues ahead of Tottenham after they had an offer accepted by Everton.

He came down to London, headed to Surrey then U-turned and is now staying at Goodison Park.

Just out of interest, with a whole year or so to figure this out, which complete bunch of morons decided that closing the transfer window at the same time as a swathe of World Cup qualifiers were being played was a good idea? Football is populated with cretins. Cretins with fortunes. It makes me really sad and angry and bewildered.

Who is the bigger fool? Them or me, for continuing to support Arsenal?

the window should close on july 31st every summer

Yep. And mid-season one should close mid December.

Considering the fact that Monaco accepted our Lemar bid, Barcelona should just buy him and forget about Coutinho.
