We should be building that sort of a team, not tearing it apart. Would rather get 4-5 high quality youngsters like Dortmund did last summer (I don't know if Monaco built with such intent or have a strong academy to keep producing players like Martial, Ferreira Carrasco, and the current crop) and at least enjoy the games rather than play stultifyingly with Giroud and Coquelin and Welbeck.

whenever people are tearing apart young exciting teams like Monaco and Dortmund, we are nowhere to be seen.

What do you mean. We just signed Wenger on a 2 year deal. He is better than all these United and City signings.

Liverpool linked to Mohammed Salah, good signing for them if they can complete it

He'd be a smashing signing for any side in Premier League. I hope they don't get him.

They'd have a blistering counter attack with him in. But AFCON might screw with em again.

Thought Chelsea had him a few seasons back.

Didn't exactly set the league on fire

Yeah. Let Liverpool have Salah. Not bothered

Absolutely. Apparently for GBP 40m. Crazy. And, folks, Lacazette's back on the table - Atletico's transfer ban has been upheld, so he's not moving there. And maybe that means no move for Greaseman either.

Yep, Atletico's ban has been upheld. Good on the authorities for standing up to them, a pity they weren't so strong in the face of Real Madrid's money and influence.

Lacazette's move will obviously now not happen but with Griezmann it might not mean much because he has an £86m release clause. So Atletico might not have a choice.

Yes, but he was only around 21-22. Also Chelsea don't have the best record with giving young players a chance. Young players who subsequently turn out to be pretty good.

Salah's been quite good for Roma the past two seasons - scoring well into double figures.

Plus did he even plag m(any) games? Seem to remember him having a Cuadrado style time at Chelsea with next to no minutes on the pitch.

im so desperate now. lacazette and lukaku aren't look as unappealing as before

Isn't Lukaku supposedly linked to a return to CFC, with Costa heading to China?

What was unappealing about them in the first place? They both score bags of goals.

The Mourinho effect.

Either of them would be a massive upgrade and walk straight into our starting 11.

Lukaku scored 25 league goals this season. Thats extremely appealing to me.

They also had de Bruyne and let him go.

Salah has scored 20 goals and assisted another 13-14 from the wing this season. Bloke's a class player. He's way too good for Liverpool.

dont see any upside in either of them. they both lack outstanding technical ability or skill for players with their price tag. neither will ever be considered world class imo

but needs must. we're europa level now so in reality theyre the best we a hope for

Agreed, Salah is quality, I wouldn't mind him as an Ozil replacement. If Liverpool can get this over the line and a striker, they will be a force next season.

Salah is an absolutely devastating player on the counter. With Liverpool playing style he will fit in perfectly. We should go for him to be honest.

Spanish transfer clauses are nonsense. You can activate it and the club can still reject it.

For me their goal scoring records overshadow everything else about their game.

Mendy close to City according to Sky btw. Van Dijk rumoured to be next in line. That's over 100m spent on 3 players if all goes through.

dont forget they signed ederson as well. thats another 35m

That's right. Then it's closer to 150m.

Lucas Hernandez reported by Spanish Media to be joining City for 44m as well. Not sure after the transfer ban would Atletico still sell.

Samp's President says Schick is going to Juve... 🙁

He's a big talent but it's reasonable for Atlético to let him go for that fee, Savic is a fixture and pretty young and Gimenez while in a bit of a slump right now has probably the highest ceiling of their centre halves

Salad to Liverpool looks like it will happen. Pity we didn't go for him, such a threat in the attacking third.

If they're getting him need to go and sign Dressing too, they compliment each other very well.

Salah on the verge of joining Liverpool for 35m. Him and Mane on the flanks will be quite a potent attack.

They also paying mad money for Van Dijk is reports are to be believed. Mad money.

If Van Dijk is worth 60mil, suddenly 130 or whatever million for Mbappe doesn't seem too bad suddenly.

50m pounds. That would make him on par with David Luiz as the most expensive defender.

Considering we paid 35m for Mustafi, I am not too surprised.

If Liverpool get van Dijk then it is literally only because 5 clubs or more don't want him at the price Southampton want for him.

I've seen Liverpool fans banging on as if it's them back into the big time because they've signed a top player that everyone wanted. No.

I don't know about that, managers can have a big influence on a players decisions and I can imagine Klopp, much like Wenger, can be pretty convincing.

It doesn't lool like that's the case. Liverpool are the only team stupid enough to pay the £60m asking price.

It's more of a general feeling with Liverpool anyway. I cringe when I see some of the players they're linked to. It's like the media at large still think it's 1990 and they are actually one of the top clubs around.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs don't need him. City have other targets and who knows what United are planning. Ricky is right, he's going to Liverpool because the rest aren't chasing him.

We should've signed him. He would be a perfect replacement for Per.
