Don't think I've said it on here, despite going on about it on my blog and Twitter, but new Death In Vegas album, Trans Love Energies is superb. New Roots Manuva also excellent.

At the moment I'd have to go with Fabolous mate. Used to like Nas until he went all commercial. Fabolous has the maddest metaphors and punchlines in the game today.

In the UK I most rate Lowkey. He's a guy I first met through a friend of mine before he started getting serious about his music, however over the last few years I've been thoroughly impressed with his lyrical ability. Mind you, he won't appeal to most because his songs are mainly political. He raps about life, depression and stuff that most people go through rather than rapping about the usual money, drugs, guns and girls. He has a few songs about those but they're more along the lines of speaking out about how most artists today are corrupting young kids' minds.

Loyan, that dude is good, but he needs a better producer.

So does anyone care about The Stone Roses coming back? Comeback acts are rarely that good, but I think I'll try to catch them if they come stateside.

Xc, up until recently most of his songs have been mixes using other people beats and the beats produced by his friends and underground artists. He does have a few songs with good beats like One World, The Essence and a few other but it's mostly because of the content and his use of his crazy vocabulary that I like the most about him. He just dropped his first proper album last week. My favourite songs on there are Dreamers, Butterfly Effect, Haunted and Too Much. They're hard hitting songs that make you think. This is another freestyle of his I like.

Don't think I've ever hear of the Stone Roses mate, but after googling them the look like they were around before I was born.

Nice! What happened to Freeway by the way? Haven't seen or heard about him for quite a while. Funniest thing is that dude Freddie Gibbs looks almost identical to one of my mates in the song.

Tupac is a great rapper but in terms of raw technique, word play, delivery, I don't think anyone comes close to Biggie. Then after Bigge come the trio of Rakim, Big Daddy and Kool G Rap imo.

Illmatic Nas and Reasonable Doubt Jigga were brilliant wordsmiths but both dumbed down their style dramatically in order to sell more records after their debuts (not necessarily a bad thing).

Got tickets for Stone Roses today, so yeah, I'm pretty excited about it.

Ian Brown's voice is shot to shit now, was never the best in the first place but it just worked. Still, I think it'll be amazing.

So, who do you guys figure is the best guitar player out of Kirk Hammett, Slash and Mark Tremonti? I am a huge fan of all of them, but what Mark Tremonti does with his guitar is truly amazing IMO.

About Pac though, the guy was a master at almost everythinng. He had so many styles and managed to get his feeling across every time. From his songs about the ghetto to his more emotional songs, from his agressive demeanor in songs such as All Out to his poetic brilliance in songs such as Dear Mama, Letter to my Unborn, So Many Tears, and Unconditional Love. He was also a great story teller if you remember songs like Brenda's Got a Baby, Life Goes On, I ain't mad at ya, Wonder why the call you bitch, Until the End of Time, Starin at the world Thru, Trapped, Changes and Mama's a Little Girl.

That's not even mentioning his poetry or acting ability. Shame the guy had to die so young.

Kirk's faster and more hectic. I prefer Slash's sound much more than Kirk's although he's probably got the better raw ability. Really like Mark though. The guy's mad whichever speed he's playing at. My preference would be Slash, Mark then Kirk based purely on my own sound preference.

Not really all types, but I don't mind listening to a lot of different types of music. I'd listen to anything new so long as it is either by someone who is a gifted vocalist, lyricist, or musician. For the first two it helps to have good production and beats to go along with it but isn't necessarry, but the latter is his own production but needs to either have one of the two before to avoid just being another (albeit great) band member.

My favourite type of music has to be old school hip hop though. Nowadays I prefer the more underground and lesser known hip hop artists though, and the UK does seem to be producing some great talent recently.
