I was in my last year of University when they released In Rainbows. Literally had no spare cash for that or the tour around that time. Was devastated.
Didn't have money for the tour (friends tell me it was great - no surprise there) but it came out at the same time as my first uni loan instalment, so I took the plunge.
Then claimed it back as a Christmas gift. 😃

One of the Mumford and Sons was in my year. Similarly, one of Noah and the Whale was in my class for three years (but he was a really decent guy and a gooner). That whole London folk scene is quite incestuous (and not as good as the hype suggests!).

Mumford & Sons are fairly massive over here. Came #1 in the largest national music poll two years ago with "Little Lion Man".
I don't consider it folk music. It's basically sales-oriented pop with a folk-tinged aesthetic. Pretty average to boot.

Just on my first listen. Not liking the negative reviews.
There's also a few rumours that this is only half the album. I can see these tracks growing on me, but i really do hope that is the case. It doesn't feel complete at all.
