Watching an interview on French tv with griezmann now and he's just said that there's a 60% chance that he's off to United. Fuck.
Other Clubs transfer thread Jan 2017
A lot of speculation that they might have landed Bernardo Silva from Monaco as well.

he'll improve them but i don't think he's a huuuuge game changer.
He's HUGE. basically United will have signed RVP, Ibra and Griezmann while stare in bewilderment at Giroud and Welbeck. Focaccia!
Wenger's biggest crime is the set of forwards he has signed in the last 6 years - Podolski, Gervinho, Giroud, Welbeck, Perez - that's a waste of 65-70M which could have all been used to sign 1-2 high quality forwards (Aguero cost 40M if memory serves). Amazing for a man who once had Henry, Bergkamp, Kanu and Wiltord in the same squad.

I'd rate that as 2nd behind his neglect of the midfield.

Man Utd are a big club. Arsenal aren't.

Thats the type of thing savs would say while he bent over for Jose.
Whatever you say. Arsenal might have a proud history (so do Liverpool, fuck load of good that did them), but we behave like Crystal Palace in the transfer market.
Man Utd sign our best striker, we sign their worst striker.
They also signed Bebe some homeless guy they thought they could make a few pounds off.
They also bullied Arsenal into selling Van Persie. The only time we tried to bully a big rival into selling their best player we got mugged off by Liverpool.
Our track record in transfers is pathetic. Not only do we not get players we want, we never seem to sell well. 25M for Fabregas, 5M + Gallas for Cole, etc. vs 86M for Bale, 35M for Beckham back in 2003, 75M for Ronaldo, 30M for Berbatov. The only time we probably got value was 25M for Adebayor (even if he was at his peak then).
Jed has a point, our courage in the transfer market is pathetic.
I hope Man United waste a shed load of money on Griezmann
Doesn't matter. They can afford it

The bigger you are as a club the better you look in the transfer market.

It also depends on your strategy in the market - AW has said more than once that he will not bid for a player who is not available either by his club or via a release clause.
Tielemans to Monaco for €23m seems pretty cheap, we should have been all over that.

We're are to nice but Valencia really didn't seem to want to sell mustafi but we kept at it.

Claims he wanted a stepping stone before considering a larger club.
Though that could be us these days :brow:
