City were favourites this morning. Assume it's Chelsea now. We will be the outsiders.

That's my preferred semi. With the options being the other big teams I can't see anything other than another big game hammering, and if it's City that somehow wouldn't feel as bad as if it was Chelsea or Spurs. Also see them as the more likely opponent we could get a result against currently. Imagine losing a cup final to Spurs though. Fucking hell.

Best possible draw. We just need to outgun them. Spurs are our worst match-up. Hope Chelsea beats them.

We are afraid of Tottenham Hotspur.

How times have changed

They'll do us the way that Liverpool keeps doing us. They'll just absorb us and counter. We cannot handle a team that breaks that quickly. Additionally, they're solid defensively. They're the kind of team we would risk embarrassing ourselves to on an off day.

It's not Spurs I'm afraid of, it's Arsenal.

I think our best chance against Spurs would be the final. They are bottlers, we are too a bit but at least we've won the cup recently so we've that going for us.

We have three straight draws against Spurs. And we traded victories just before then, if I recall correctly. So maybe I'm being a bit more pessimistic than necessary. On the evidence of results and league form over the last two years, you could say that they are our match.

Yeah...but if Kane is out they have 0 chances to make it into the finals.

City will win the FA Cup.

😆 So true

To face Spurs in the final means you take the risk of losing to them in a final which is extremely terrible. Even without Kane, Son is better than anyone we have bar Alexis in the CF role.

Thinking along the same lines that's exactly why I'd love to face them in the final, the stakes will be high and victory would probably make it the sweetest FA Cup win under Wenger.

Yeah I give us far less chance against Chelsea. Things can change before the end of the season though. Chelsea have been playing hard and fully focussed. Maybe by the end of the season they'll be burnt out and the mental holiday our players have been on for months will pay off. We can be the tortoise to Chelseas Hare in this one.

Or we could just lose to City, lose Sanchez, watch Wenger sign a new deal and fall deeper into a state of apathy.

😆

I don't think Chelsea will be very worn out I'm afraid. No Europe and they'll have won the league pretty early on. What might work against them is if they win it too early and going into party mode in the days and weeks before the final.

Lets see if we can beat City first, we need to get some of our mojo back before then.

Handy enough run of fixtures coming up anyway. If we don't hit a spell of form now we'll be in serious trouble by the semi.

a month later

Good game, Kane equalises with a wonderful header

I really dislike both of these teams with a passion.

2-1 Chelsea. Now humiliate them, please.
