I'd love to have a fully fit Diaby for as long as he wants to stay with us. A constantly injured one is fucking pointless as far as I am concerned. He seldom does play in one game and then does well. He needs a few games.

There are four to five players that I'd get rid of ahead of Diaby.
The only issues with him are his incessant injuries.

He's currently injured isn't he?
With any luck a proper summer of rest will benefit him for next season.

That exactly right, and the same goes for RvP.
I was a supporter of Diaby but my patience is at an end, this club needs a renewal from top to bottom.
Unfortunately say nothing/do nothing Stan doesn't appear to be the one to do it.

Yep thats right. Everyone wants to get rid of the 4 or 5 players before Diaby, just saying Diaby should be the 6th. The club should be looking to get rid of everyone thats either useless or too injury proned to be useful.

Oh btw, that Ever Banega vid is awesome. Havent seen a more naturally gifted player than him for awhile

He is definitely better than Ramsey though. I would replace Cesc with him once he leaves, or Pastore but that guy is ridiculously overpriced by a crazy chairman

Any team in the league would jump at the chance of signing him. He'll need games next season. Banega would make more sense to sign if we somehow lost Cesc.

And while we're at it, some have seen Alvarez play some central mid as well. How does he stack up with the above?

Ah yes. Banega would absolutely be my number one choice for a midfielder. Knows how to dictate play superbly and would fit in here like a glove.

Top talent. Will end up at barca I recon

Cali: Never been impressed with Gago at all and I don't know enough about Alvarez to say where he's best suited, only that he's supposed to be very versatile in the attacking end. Banega is brilliant though. I hope that Ferguson has been too busy to piss away money on squad players this summer to realise what a brilliant replacement for Scholes he'd be.

Yeah thats true. But then again, if you are offered an opportunity to sign Banega, nobody will reject him for fear of affecting Ramsey or Wilshere's development. (Maybe Arsene will, he loves to protect his fledglings thats why we haven't won anything for years.) Weird to think nobody wanted Banega after Valencia got him and then he was affected by the sex scandal, then all of a sudden after he returned from his dreadful loan spell Valencia gave him a chance and played him, then they know how good he was.

Btw Cali, good comparison there. Banega and Gago from the same youth system, plays in the same position and the same type of midfielder. Still reckon Gago is a good player, ruined by Madrid.

Clrnc: Well, it depends. There is such a thing as having too many players and too few spots. If Ramsey or Wilshere were unknown qualities it would make sense, but they're not. Not that I'd complain if he ended up at Arsenal, but it's possible to admire a player without wishing you'd blow half the transfer budget on him.

Clarence, definitely agree. I think that Gago is much better than he is given credit for. He's just one of those Madrid players who have not had the chance and would add a lot to our midfield. I'm not sure how much better Banega really is, but he has certainly had more consistent opportunity to highlight his skills.

If Fabregas had the open-mindedness to consider a move to Madrid, I would explore the possibility of a straight player swap - Fabregs = Benzema and Gago and be done.

Ramsey still is an unknown quantity as far as I'm concerned. Quality game against Utd last season, but wasn't really doing much else in any of his other appearances last year.

Understandable and expected, of course, but he's still got it all to do.

I think Ramsey won't demand too much playing time as well if we sign Banega. Problem is I think Wilshere might lose out in that case. Ideally I would love Banega replacing Diaby's role, but we ain't a club who buys quality players to improve the squad.

Yep he is. He was as highly rated as Banega when he was at Boca. This vid shows some of his highlights in his limited playing time last season, and even then he shows great vision and passing.

I have no doubts Madrid will sell him this season. They definitely can't fit him in with Sahin there.
