Lansbury used to play there when younger and for me it's where he looked at his best.

But do we really want to go down the road of experimenting again?

Lansbury is all running, thats what we want and need from him when he plays IMO, I think he'd be best along side a more disciplined mid.

I'm fine with the first choice midfield. Remember when people were talking about the super 6? That works a treat, the 3 in the centre are quality, the problem is when they get tired or injured we have no real replacements. We've got Ramsey now who can fill for Cesc or Wilshere and Lansbury can play in that Wilshere position too but when Song is out we just have no one to back up that more defensive midfield role. For me its an area where we just need a decent, strong player who knows that position but not really a marque name. If we're spending big money then I want it to be spent on someone special in the front line.

where would we play banega? i guess he could be a fabregas replacement?

we could use someone who's not afraid of a little targeted violence to make sure our guys aren't kicked off the pitch. wilshere knows what i'm talking about, but it'd be a waste for him to sit. is alou diarra a hard man-type? seemed sort of like late model gilberto a few times i saw him - tall, decent but not great passing, sat back.

We don´t need another midget CM with dodgy positional discipline IMO. He is exactly what we don´t need, taking into consideration which players we already have.

He played a similar role at Watford, so it wouldn't be a big experiment. it's just about whether he's good enough, and in theory, his attributes should be well suited to the role. It's the position where I see him being able to contribute the most to the team.

Banega hasnt got dodgy positional sense. If we want to play a game where we manipulate and retain the ball well, he's exactly the kind of player we should be looking at.

Yeah, but in Jack or Cesc's position, not Song's. Not for me anyway. We need a bit of strength and power in there.

What would people think about getting Jose Bosingwa from Chelsea this summer? He's only got a year left on his contract and has been linked away for peanuts. Might be a great back-up/alternative to Sagna, if Eboue gets moved on.

N'Zonzi perhaps? Prem experience, very good athlete.

Rodwell and Fellaini... probably out of our price range and probably not value for money either.

Sissoko.. not ideal as he might be off in january along with Song but he's a good player and played in England before.

Palombo...relegated with Sampdoria. Tough midfielder who can play a bit too, unlikely to leave Italy though.

Nobody really stands out but i wouldn't be upset with any of them. Just hope we switch back to a more orthodox 4-3-3 and bring in another DM alongside Song.

I've been saying for a while I think N'Zonzi is a good underrated Premiership player who has something we lack that could come in and be a good, cheapish back up to Song. And he's young. Not sure if we should be signing an African back up for Song though.

I'd gladly take Mohamed Diamé, depending on how much Wigan would want for him. He'd be a good player to have around in the squad. We were rumoured to be after him a few years ago when he played in Spain.

Mentioned him before. Rate him as well, really quite fantastic for a poor Wigan side this season. Would take Tiote ahead of him though

I think it's important that the defensive midfielder in our team is very good on the ball, so unless there's a classy, technical holding midfielder out there that's available I'd look for a solution from within the current squad.

and i think that's what we'll do timbo.

trying to read webber at the mo, i think we'll get a big centrehalf suited to the demands of premiership footy (samba i guess) and we'll get one topaddition to the frontline. then it'll be prospects and replacements if someone like nasri or clichy leaves

Forgot about him, he was one of the guys i mentioned we should look at nicking on the cheap when the relegation scrap was ongoing. He reminds me of Diaby too much though :o

N'Zonzi is french, if that last sentence was referring to him. Agree with the sentiment though.

What is going on with Kaka? Does he want to be at Real? Does Real want him? If Kaka is back to health, he can be the type of devastating player who can disrupt our lateral passing, making us more dynamic, disorganizing opposition defenses, and creating more immediate shot opportunities for himself and his teammates.
