i dont know that i'd agree with that.. Cavani is growing each year.. this season he's taken a huge step forward.. he needs to play with good players to make him play his best, and playing with the likes of Hamsik and Lavezzi have really helped him up his game. he's a tall and strong lad and is just getting better.. his inconsistency that plagued him earlier on seems to have waned a bit

does have a tendency to go down easy though, but i everyone does in Italy

Why do you think that Kel? I'd say that about quite a few Serie A players but definitely not Cavani.

Speaking of Serie A, i think there is an interesting player on loan at Inter. Nagatomo - Japanese full back at Cesena. 24 years old, can play either side and has a teriffic engine. Really bombs forward and looks a good player. Possible replacement for Eboue or Clichy.

What kind of player is Cavani? How does he get his goals? I saw him in the world cup as a wide player, but he looked pretty unimpressive tbh.

He's Andy Carroll with technical ability! Nah not quite that good, but he is a handful - good strength, pace, excellent aerial ability. Very much a number 9 type striker.

I think Gomez is currently the best number 9 in europe followed by Cavani and then Falcao

Not much of a difference nowadays between traditional '9's' and traditional '10's'. Most of them do a bit of everything.

we desperately need some livewires up front who can do something in and around the box and not slow us down

hazard, neymar, aguero, just someone so we dont have to stomach this bullshit much longer

for me you need either a strong physique or great technical ability to succeed as a striker in engalnd. cavani is a good player, but a bit too average all round.

That's why I mentioned it.

He genuinely seems like he'd love to play here. I can forgive him as I view all footballers as mercenaries these days. Might as well get ones with the required technique to carry out our game plan.

Fair enough, I just have no idea what purpose he'd serve. I think he'd ride the bench and be back to his whinging ways before too long.

I'd take Richards, Gameiro and Hazard like a shot. If we brought them in we could drop Eboue, Denilson, Arshavin and Bendtner without blinking.

Once upon a tme I would have taken Hleb back. Not anymore. Of course he'd love to play here, he's 30 years old and he's frittered away his career.

It's not like now he's older, Hleb's going to have more end product than he did before. He wouldn't be a good replacement for anyone in the lineup we just saw take on Liverpool.
