No I didn't say that. The Chamberlain bit is hyperbole and I know it probably doesn't make much sense but I don't like players hiding behind their age. Like when Jenkinson had all those bad games for us, some people use to say "well he's only a kid, he's come from league 2, give him a break" which is all true but once he steps out onto the field I'm going to judge him by the standards of an Arsenal right back and not that of a 19 year old league two footballer.

For the same reason we sent Wilshere out on loan to Bolton. He's getting regular football there but he's also making mistakes as well and as we know very well having young players learning to ply their trade and make mistakes in the first team can have it's downfalls. As I said before the fact that he's their best winger says a lot more about the quality of their squad than it does about him.

What did he do to us earlier in the season? I can only remember him hitting the bar, Jenkinson kept him pretty quiet.

I was very relived to see Chamberlain play well yesterday in his little cameo - ive been very worried about his poor performances / lack of development for a while now.

I don't expect him to turn in Utd/Milan level performances every week, but would have expected a bit more out of him by now.

I think those two performances and a couple of goals in a rout against Blackburn have led to people thinking he is a lot better than he actually is. Still loads of potential though, but he starts needing to deliver on it sooner than later. He's not a Jack / Cesc level talent though.

Sterling does look like an excellent player in the bits i've seen so far. But until he does it on a really big stage I won't believe all of the hype just yet.

Personally think Zaha will be better than both.

Sterling is currently playing at a much much higher level than Chamberlain and he is only 17.

That's not the same thing at all then.

Saying Sterling isn't good enough to start regularly for us right now is one thing. Ignoring the quality he's already showing as a 17 year-old is quite another, whilst simultaneously refusing to take his age into account when judging his potential, which is precisely what we'd be signing him on the basis of. Sterling is playing pretty well for Liverpool right now. That he's doing what he's doing at 17 is doubly impressive, even if he might not be quite ready to play for a top 4 club every week just yet.

So I still don't understand why you think he should go on loan.

He wasn't quiet at all - he took Ox & Jenkinson to the cleaners on more than a few occasions.

I like Sterling, I really do but I'm keeping my powder dry until he does it against a big team like Wilshere v Barcelona or Chamberlain V Man Utd. That is the true test of a young player's potential, not the way he does a few dribbles against Norwich and Sunderland, but how he performs against top class opposition.

He was brilliant against the champions city.

What are you on about Liverpool making the mistakes we have with youth? If anything they are playing better with him in the side.

Hasn't been playing a lot lately but did look lively when he came on (Inter the wankers cost me a lot of money).

I think i have a man crush on Honda so i watch CSKA the odd time and their striker Ahmed Musa has really caught my eye. Only just turned 20 and looks very talented.

He hasn't had a performance like Chamberlain's against Milan at the Emirates yet, so no, he hasn't reached similar heights just yet.

He will be a great player though, great talent.

Second season is always more difficult, because people expect young players to constantly perform on a high level and if not, they lose faith quickly.

Chamberlain's been managed well so far. I've got no worries about him and I fully expect him to step it up soon.

Sterling has been nothing short of superb this season. Being a creative force for Liverpool is no easy task.

Liverpool have a few good young players coming through, no one else at the level that sterling is at but worth keeping an eye on. Certainly better than the crap they've signed in recent years

Chamberlain will end up a far superior player than Sterling.

Good question. Haven't seen him at all in Serie A for quite a while but he seemed to be doing okay in Spain on loan last season. I think he's struggling a bit to settle in Italy. Both Moratti and Stramaccioni seem to think the world of him though.

I wouldn't raise an eyebrow at 25M pounds. It's hard to explain just how excited I get when I see this guy on a ball. Pace, skill, power. With discipline, he can be every bit as good as Titi was for us. I'm not being provocative here.
