I will admit it is true. I really like HBA and TBH i wanted us to go for him but i see where you are coming from. He is despite his recent displays quite inconsistent and losses the ball too often for my liking.

He makes things out of nothing and beats players for fun, can score as well, we should have got him last year but this january he would be a beast of a signing. He does occasionally lose the ball but anyone who plays with risks will.

Fergie doesn't need to play him every week, he has Rooney, RVP, Wellbeck, Young, Kagawa, Valencia, etc We have Giroud, Chamakh, Theo, Gervinho, Arshavin and Podolski. Thats a pretty big talent gap. I'd love to get Nani. I think he'd do better here too, we could do with someone who's a bit selfish.

Est, no matter what, we need to spend. That 40m pounds is there, and we could get them for 35m. Ben Arfa can be had for 14 or so, and Moyes would hold us to ransom for Fellaini but take less than 20.

Our problem is this: every season that we let go of stars without replacing, we create an even bigger hole to dig ourselves out of. 2 seasons ago, that team only needed the addition of, say, Cazorla and Mertesacker while retaining our other players. We've since dumped Fabregas, van Persie, Nasri and Song with Cazorla the only replacement (for Nasri). If we'd held onto our players, we'd be in the title mix.

Thing is, I'm highly pessimistic about us doing what's necessary to get the players we need.

Comparing our squad with United is painful, as just a few years ago(after Ronaldo left) talent-wise our squads were comparable- we were about two class players short of them. Right now, I reckon our squad needs at least £100m worth of investment to be comparable.

All of Shaktar Donetsk's players are available though.

Wanyama backed out of a move to us in the summer. Maybe he thought it was too early, maybe he knew he could do better? who knows. Would be tragic if he moves to United now.

Capi, what's the market for Ben Arfa? Who other than Arsenal needs him? Bayern, United, Barca, Madrid, Citeh and Chelsea all have better players on their books already. Maybe Liverpool and possibly PSG. The latter is not a sensible option, while the former could be a threat if they are intent on getting more French players in.

As for Fellaini, the market is mainly United, but if Ferguson continues to keep faith in his pensioners, Cleverly, Anderson and Carrick, then we won't enter a bidding war. These guys can be had. The big dogs have eaten, and we're sucking on the leftover bones.

'The market' is Newcastle. Nobody wanted Andy Carroll either and they fleeced Liverpool to the tune of £35m. They don't want to sell and they don't have to sell.

Fellaini isn't for sale, it's been said a thousand times and they certainly aren't going to let him go for less than £20m.

Do you really believe that? That these players cannot be made for sale? If their agents find out that we are willing to make a reasonable bid, the wheels will be set in motion and Newcastle and Everton could be guided into discussions with us.

It doesn't matter what wheels are set in motion; we are discussing how much the said two players would cost.
