Nah, this team needs at least 1 top fullback. Gibbs is perpetually in "might be top class one day... maybe" mode, and Santos is poor positionally and that's not going to get better at 29 years old. Sagna needs to be used more wisely now, and Jenkinson is nowhere near good enough for the premier league at the moment.

We definitely need a good right back. If Sagna breaks his leg again we're instantly down to a motley crew of half-qualified understudies. Not having decent fullbacks available fucked us over last season.

just backtracked to your post now...

why would we spend 15-20m on lloris for a temporary marginal improvement on chesney? lloris is barely better than chesney right now, and chesney could very well close the gap as soon as this coming season. you think either lloris or chesney will sit on the bench? getting lloris might be the most inefficient use of 15m one could realistically imagine.

Anyway, some people need to watch Lloris more. He had a poor season at Lyon last season. Some of his gaffs was unbelievablely poor.

What do you think are the chances of Montpelier selling Belhanda to us too? Clearly we would have to pay a lot but maybe a Ramsey plus cash deal for him could work? I'm a big fan of Younes and think he would fit the attacking midfielder role perfectly.
