*He's the sort of quality player who can play almost everywhere we've been crying out for over the years. Kind of like what Adriano is for Barca or what Wenger intended to do with Eboue(good idea, but lacked the quality or the brain to be that man at a club like Arsenal). Our starting 11 has always been injury prone over the years, so having experienced quality player like him who could do a job in loads of position would make it very difficult for some kids or dross to just walk into our starting line up unopposed. They'll have to earn the right to do so. He would even do a better job in some games over some of our 1st team players like the somewhat overrated Sagna(great defender and athlete though).
Oh and yeah getting rid of Arshavin(80k a week), Walcott(reportedly holding out for 85k a week), Chamakh(came on free transfer, so should be on high wages) and some dross like Almunia, Squillaci etc would free up a lot of wages to accomodate those 3.
