I can see him work in a Milner-Touré triangle too, where Touré is the pressing midfielder while Milner is the one that makes the straight line runs forward to support the attack. Like Boateng at Milan. Milner was fairly successful in that role for Aston Villa.

Dont know why exactly, but I reckon Pirlo would flop quite badly in the premier league at this stage of his career. Watching him over the last couple of seasons I get the impression he's lost some of his hunger for the game, understandable really because he's won absolutely everything. He seems to go in to his shell every time he gets pressed and hassled, too.

How much would he want coming on a free transfer? Probably millions up front and about 200k a week.

Probably. Can't see why he'd want to leave Milan anyway. It's not like his place is threatened or the team is doing badly.

For some reason, goals don't seem to matter anymore. 😐

Yeah last thing we'd want is a striker who gets into the box and scores goals. Much better off getting some tippy tappy link man.

I suppose we should sign wingers who just hug the touchline and cross the ball all the time too.

Not quite the same as a player who scores goals.

Yay! They'll give us width, width, width then too! Capi will love 'em!

We can even deploy them at fullback.

No, but the concept that a strikers only job is to score goals is similarly old fashioned imo.

Just to be clear, I'm all for someone who is an out and out goalscorer joining the club, but they still have to suit the system, style of play, and have a good technical level.

Nobody said that a strikers only job is to score goals.

It's the blatant disregard for them that is highly amusing.

Dont care what some of you lot say, Scott parker would be quality for us. Just what we need.

It's not disregarded, it's just not enough.

It's the same with Bendtner, he has 42 goals in 70 starts, a load of them out wide too, doesn't stop people from wanting him gone.

Tim, remember this. A lot of people watch only games involving Arsenal and maybe United and Chelsea. Most of the guys who will say Parker is a nobody just don't see him enough.

After all is said and done, it's not Nasri, vd Vaart, Nani or Vidic who should be player of the year. The award has to be Parker's. Only his team's plight can get in the way

I watch almost every west ham game, a fair few live and scott parker is not the player for Arsenal.

Parker not the player for Arsenal? Why not Captain?

At the very least, as a squad option, he looks like the competitive combative type we could use in midfield when injuries kick in.

Is he at a stage in his career where that would be a good move for him?

Because he is just a decent midfielder with alot of running in him. Like Flamini lite (and that is very, very light).

Fuck our system and our style of play, thats why we don't win anything.

Definitely need to go in to next season not being so dependent on rvp for goals

i dont think we should even consider any attackers who aren't a threat to score on freekicks. no shooting technique, then gtfo.
