Yeah, I think so. Suspect that he's even better in midfield than in that free drifting role he played in the attack for Dortmund last season. As opposed to someone like Nasri, who was good at exploiting space but poor at creating it and therefore pushed out wide, Kagawa is blessed with excellent vision. Think it's mainly because he's so quick that he got played further up the field.

I'd take him over any of our wide options too though. He could be an extremely useful player for us.

maybe it's just me, but kagawa reminds me of ozil. great vision/close control and with the pace to break through lines, but without the unnecessary "flashy" dribbles....

Realistically, I'd be happy with Shaquiri and Cahill at this stage.

We need much more, but with so little time I don't think we'll be getting players of sufficient calibre or quantity.

Would welcome any of the top 5. in fact, woudl welcome a combo such as Goetze / Podoloski.
It also amazes me Capi given the quality of the players and the low levels of wages outside Bayern, that we do not recruit more Bundesliga players. We could do very well by recruiting there. You haven't even named defensive players like Hummels, Schmelzer, Subotic, Beck, Kjaer, etc.

Looking back, I wish we had found a way to fool Barca into handing over Thiago as part of the Cesc deal. I'm sure we tried and I bet they offered him with a buy back clause that favors them. That kid is going to trump all the kiddies listed on this page. He's something special.

I'm confident that Wenger will bring in some quality players. He has too much money to feel comfortable not spending it

Updated wishlist to give Wenger a bit more flexibility:

One each of
CD: Cahill, Jagielka, Albiol (10-15m)
DM: Montolivo, Lucho, M'Vila (5-15m)
AM: Hazard, Goetze (25m) - no need to scrimp here. We need quality.
FW: Podolski, Forlan (5-10m)

Overall spend of 45 - 65M depending on who we buy. Any combination of that lot will leave me relatively comfortable. The fact is, there are good players available. Some (Cahill) should be easy to get while others (Goetze) might need significant effort

Couple of the papers are linking us with a move for Davide Santon. Wouldn't be a bad move.

John Cross and Matt Law both say they've heard we've made a bid for Gary Cahill, and both are adamant the €25M bid for Yann M'Vila is real.
