If we beat United away, it would be huge and this cannot be under estimated. It would be a more important indicator of our ability to last the distance than any football we are playing currently. Questions are asked because we often fold at the earliest sign of trouble. I was more impressed by the Burnley game than the Ludogorets game tbh because we stuck to the task and didn't lose our organisation like has often happened in the past. Lets see if we can repeat this deep into the season.
United, United, United.
Why United away? Yes, it's a big game, but why is that your benchmark? Why should it be ours? If we win does that somehow automatically make us dead on favorites to win the league in your view? In November?? And if we don't does that mean we stand no chance?
Winning the league is about consistency. Consistency in performances against the lower teams is more critical than the one off big games. Those are great to win of course as they increase the confidence and belief in the team, and gives fans something to brag about, but it's still the same 3 points total isn't it?
What makes games memorable for me is not the football we play anymore but the challenges we overcome and all this talk of us suddenly playing scintillating football like never seen before is slightly bemusing.
No one has made this claim, except voices in your head.
Also if you don't find good footy memorable that's fine, feel free to leave this thread for those of us who do and open a thread on overcoming challenges or whatever else stirs your loins.
I'm sure some of you were singing the same tune when we beat United 3-0 last season.
No. I'm quite sure we were not. I remember clearly because we slurped tea out of our Wenger out mugs. We had just come off the back of an absolutely horrendous game losing 3-2 at home to Olympiacos, and right afterwards we went on a strong run which included wins against Bayern, Swansea and Everton. October was a very good month for us. But no one really had the feeling that we were consistent or truly exciting with our attacking play and the atmosphere remained skeptical. Quite a few of us have that feeling now, and we are actually enjoying watching us go forward.
What are you so mad at, bro?
