I'd go:
------------Ospina Bellerin---Mus---Kos---Gibbs ---------Elneny---Xhaka Theo--------Ozil-----Chambo ------------Perez
Get Ozil, Theo, and Bellerin, off after an hour if we're winning comfortably.
Looks good by me.
And I believe Ramsey is being given another full week (at least) as a proper "preseason". Think they're taking this injury very seriously as he's now demonstrating how easily his hammy can go.
I swear, if Ramsey does his hammy again this season, we should just be looking to sell. Its annoying beyond belief, how we need him to keep recovering from this couple of times per season.
I'm sure City can't wait to sell Aguero too because of his dodgy hamstrings. 🙂
Aguero is world class. Ramsey is not.
Ramsey has been involved in over 40 games per season every season but one since he came back from his leg break, and that one season he was involved in 34 games. It isn't like he doesn't play a significant amount of games for us! In the case of Ramsey, I think even thinking of selling him because of not being fit is a ridiculous notion.
Its not that he isnt fit for enough games, its that he needs to be managed so delicately, always takes like 5 or more games to get going at after injuries and his output isnt worth the hassle.

I agree. We just have to make sure we keep Welbeck.
If we field a weakened team we might Ludogoret it.
------------Ospina Bellerin---Mus---Kos---Gibbs ---------Elneny---Xhaka Theo--------Ozil-----Iwobi ------------Perez
Replace Iwobi/Ozil/Bellerin with Chambo/Caz/Debuchy after an hour/70 mins. Alexis can be the ace on the bench if things go desperately wrong.

He has been one of our most played midfielders for the last few years, even with his injuries. His current injury is because he was rushed back after the World Cup while other players who's teams went deep into the tournament were given time to recover.
If Perez doesn't play this match you have to wonder why we bought him. Elneny should start too.
I doubt Perez will start our second game after an international break, but you never know.

General consensus was that Elneny was shit because he didn't play at the start too.
Basically unless you are a legit world beater bought for record fees or if there's an injury crisis happening, hardly any new signings get good game time under Wenger right away.

Are there other examples of this beyond Elneny? And in his case he came from a much weaker league, coming from La Liga I'd have expected Perez to get more game time so far.
In fairness it's not often we have a new signing coming into a relatively stable squad. Normally Wenger's signings are desperately plugging in the gaps.
Yeah, when the squad is settled people usually have to wait for their turn. Eduardo had to do six months among the reserves despite being off to a flying start. I think Perez is going to be alright. He just needs to be patient for while and work on his fitness. We need him to perform in january, not right now.
Xhaka himself was on the bench at the start and it was only an injury to Coquelin that saw him get more game time. And he's a £35m signing
There's absolutely no rush to force Perez to play, particularly if he's being put through intense training behind close doors.

That makes sense for him not getting starts. Not getting more minutes off the bench is the weird thing.
Wenger is a wicked man. That explains it all.
The man will get his chances when the manager deems him adapted and ready, or we need him.
He was brought in to challenge Giroud and even Giroud hasn't been playing.

that's what i was thinking. i'm hoping he has an eduardo 08 type of impact. the other good thing is the team are being somewhat weened off of playing with giroud up front, so hopefully that helps him slot in when he gets his chance
