Agree with the part about work rate, don't want to see anyone not pressing and just standing around. But that's got to come from Wenger.

Pressing is not simply chasing the ball.
We cannot suddenly become good at it in a week.
Teams that do it properly work on it week in and week out.

That's why I'm advocating a 4-5-1 because the extra CM will serve as mitigation when we inevitably left our guard down. Need a big game from Ozil either way.

Our pressing was very good at Hull IMO.
Basically, I don't think we are necessarily terrible at it, but we are inconsistent with how we manage to implement our pressing successfully.

I think Hull proved the point to a certain extent. 2-0 up and cruising against ten men, suddenly we let them out of the press and then from nowhere they get a penalty.

Every system has its flaws, and there's no system that's water tight. Fans obsess to much about giving chances away.

Our pressing is pretty much one of the weakest part of Wenger's tactics so far IMO. We hardly see effective pressing. Often one go and the other one doesn't. Alexis and Ozil is often frustrated by that.

I don't think we do any real pressing. Pressing is a team effort. What we do is watch on or two of the forwards do a bit of hustling. Its never really a concerted effort.

I think you will find the massive gap that appeared on our flank was a result of Monreal pressing in a dumb way.
