So we know our squad, we know everyone elses squad so where do you think we'll finish now?

Going to go with second, behind City.

I'm gonna say 3rd. Don't think we've improved much but I don't think other teams have improved as much as people seem to think.

we'll eventually get our act together and finish 3rd. I think City and United for 1, 2, and Chelsea, Spurs for 4, 5

Fuck it. Wenger knows 😆

Can't vote for anything but.

We won't finish outside of the top four.

I'm saying 3rd if our players stay fit and our signings adapt fast. 4th if whatever improvements we've made this summer only turn out to be marginal.

I think we will finish 2nd. City, United and Chelsea are all looking great, but they will all hit the wall at one point too. We will kick on from here.

Logic says fourth, but I feel bold today, so third it is.

The one thing that leaves me hopeful about 3rd place is that Conte didn't get a striker in. Hazard has started really well this season but he's one of the most mentally weak players I've seen, and Costa is a shell of his former self. I don't think they're good enough to carry an attack anymore.

Sad that we have to feel hopeful about third.

3rd possibly 2nd if one of the Manchester clubs slip up.

Speak for yourselves. I see no reason why this squad can't challenge.

Also - this place is fairly pessimistic at the best of times (I say that as one of the pessimists). Don't think anyone predicted our performance over past three seasons

You see any reason why this squad can't win though? Because that's what it comes down to for me. Challenging is not enough if you know that you ultimately won't win.

Have a random feeling we will be 3rd and we will feel we did well.

Cesc is done too. No way he does as much as he did even 2 years ago. Their attack is in serious trouble if Hazard drops off.

Yep, Cesc is done for sure. There's no way a player who can't run and doesn't understand tactical roles will get into a Conte side. I think Oscar might improve this season to make up for it though. His potential has been a bit wasted in recent years but he's a very able player.

Well it's not really challenging if you don't think you can actually win. But yeah, basically there's no reason why we can't finish in 1st place in my opinion, Wenger is probably the biggest one, but I don't think it's beyond him either. I certainly don't think there's enough between any of the squads mentioned to rule anyone out. It's marginal.

Aye, fair enough.

Haven't voted, but i think top two for sure. We have a settled squad which has a very good balance IMO. Injuries aside we absolutely should challenge for the title.

If Perez is not a flop we will finish third.

If Perez is a flop we will finish fourth.

Eerie feeling that this is the year we don't make it to the top 4.

United and City are too powerful... Chelsea don't seem the strongest but they play once per week.

That leaves us Spurs Liverpool and Leicester. We've got lucky before hopefully it continues but I see Tottenham as serious this seasons. Very powerful.

Im thinking 5th.

Before the last 2 signings I thought 4th was going to be a struggle this season. Mustafi should ensure that's not the case at least. No idea about Perez yet. Probably 4th, maybe 3rd with some luck. Expect to be a distance behind the top 2.

3rd or 4th. Have to wait and see how much Chelsea benefit from one game a week.

Feels like we're going to be third.

If we hadn't already pissed away five points I'd be optimistic and go for second.

I think 3rd or 4th.

Physically we don't look robust enough to outlast Chelsea and United. I'm still not quite convinced about City. I don't think they can sustain the style of football Pep wants them to play over a 38game season. If we approached the season in two halves and did business in Jan to prop our season, we could go very far. Unfortunately Wenger doesn't operate that way. You can't help but feel there is still a big hole in this squad and it's the lack of a credible 30goal a season striker.

I think we as a squad look more physically robust now than we ever have for over a decade.

We still can't deal with pacey powerful runners and get cut through too much for comfort at times. We are getting overloaded on the left and Monreal is a bit of a worry. I hope he's not in physical decline because Gibbs doesn't offer much of an alternative and he will be 27 very soon.

the ricardo rodriguez rumours seemed odd at the time, but looking at nacho's form curve in the last 12 months i can understand why we may have been looking for left backs. maybe we'll go back in for him next year

Hope not, don't like the look of him one bit.

Gonna keep and eye on how Ben Chilwell does at Leicester this season. Looks a big talent to me. Timing might be good to nick him off them at the end of the season.

Need to be aiming much higher and buy ready made replacements.

I wishlisted this guy the other day: http://onemoreinthetolly.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=2171&pid=698915#pid698915

I think you'd like him, Ricky. Quick, technical, built (and defends) like a centreback. People aren't talking about him much right now but I reckon that's about to change.

I predicted 4th but as always it's better to predict after 10 games to see how we handle different types of games. Premium, mid table, fodder, home, away etc.
