We sent Ramsey to Cardiff for a few months and the reasoning is simple; there is no match time at Arsenal to bring these fellas up to speed. 10mins here and there doesn't count, they need competition and football for the majority of the game week in, week out.

I think some are underestimating just how poor wilsheres record is for us.

Is Wilshere is pushing for it then fine but the argument that we should actively seek to send him out on loan because we have depth ignores all the historical issues and the cascading effect injuries often have on our squad. Also consider the fact that our rivals are very well stocked in this area and we need all the depth we can muster.

Wilshere has also been out on loan before. I think the boat for this approach has sailed.

Ramsey also went out on loan as a kid. That's the whole point.

There are NO historical issues. We have kept injury-prone players on our books. In central midfield, there are only two remaining, one is Ramsey (who plays at least half a season each year), and the other is Wilshere, the character who would be going on loan. We do not have an injury problem. We've dumped the guys who were just taking up space and getting paid to receive massages everyday.

I wouldn't call Ramsey injury prone. He's overused and mismanaged.

Good point. However, I would challenge by asking 'where is Jack's future?' If we see him as the natural Cazorla replacement (because he is the only guy in the team who could grow into that exact role next to Xhaka), then he is probably better off focusing on developing this skill set elsewhere.

Cazorlas best football for us came on the wings and at number 10. I don't see why Jack can't get plenty of minute there for us now.

Nobody is going to miss wilshere in the midterm.

Wouldn't let him go. We need Jack for the wings more than CM. We got Ox, Theo & Sanchez. 2 of those have yet to prove they can perform over half a season let a alone a full one. Letting Campbell go seems even more strange if this goes through

We also have Perez and Iwobi, plus Ramsey and welbeck to come back.

We have plenty of guys in all of his positions.

Not surprising really, if you insist on break clause I reckon a lot of the better clubs won't bother looking at him. They'll probably only take him knowing they'll have him the whole season rather than run the risk of having him taken back at short notice. Same for Jack as well, probably needs to focus his mind and plan for being away for the whole season.

We have another thread discussing Daniel Sturridge. Two years older. Similarly talented. Similarly absent due to injuries. People in that thread said unanimously that they didn't want Sturridge, even though his talent is recognised. Remove sentimentality with Jack. As Captain suggested, imagine his name was Diaby. And then make a decision based on that as to what is best for him and the team this season.
