Welbeck is exactly in the same mould - a capable backup. Cant fault Wenger for that, really.

Not sure what the focus is on chances created...that's not normally our problem, it's putting them away that's the problem. Hope this guy can do that but not seen sufficient evidence.

With Qwiss on this one, good we've signed someone but too little too late.

Well if this guy is as bad at putting the ball in the net as Welbeck we are in serious trouble.

You can't score at a decent rate for Deportivo and being as bad at putting the ball in the net as Welbeck. How many chances do you think they create?

I'm sure he's a better goal scorer than Welbeck but we'll just have to see how this goes. There is always talk that a striker will score more with better team mates etc but its more often than not the other way round. I'm hopeful he'll do well but concerned that he's had one good season in his entire career. We'll need to see how he transitions to English football too. I hope his movement around the box is smart enough for him to allow Ozil make him great.

Controversial view around here, but I think Welbeck would be scoring at a decent rate for us if he had avoided the injuries.

Perez had 100 attempts last season in the league, 15 blocked, 35 went wide, and 50 were on target.

17 goals from 50 on target attempts. 34% accuracy.

Only if Ozil plays. Otherwise our chance creation is pretty average.

Hijacking an Everton move to avoid going into a fifth season with no replacement for van persie smells of a desperate move especially after the missing out on Vardy and, seemingly, getting nowhere with Lacazette/Griezmann. Secretly hoping that this puts pressure on Lyon to cash in.

We weren't waiting on Perez though. It's hard to speculate on what's gone on beyond the scenes but we've had confirmed bids for Vardy and Lacazette this summer.

Whether Perez is third choice or tenth choice, we'll never know. I don't know if Perez is good enough but Lacazette is definitely not so this works for me.

Let's get realistic here for once. Spunking 50M+ on average players like Icardi, Lacazette and Lukaku is not the way forward.
