Özil's lack of bite in front of goal drives me crazy, but look at all of this from just two games. Near enough every promising position we get into involves Özil in some way. His touch, his balance, his awareness, the weight and timing of his pass - all just consistently world class.
Forwards make or break him, that's it.
If they put away 2 or 3 of the openings he creates everyone sees his genius, if they don't then everone only sees the stuff he's not so good at and are quite literally blind to the consistency with which he creates. A rate no one else in football can match.
As I said, Özil's goal output is something I have a problem with, but I'm definitely not blind to what a phenomenal creative force he is.
