My argument is that you need the whole team to perform and play their part. There seems to be a bit of an expectation that they should be able to perform independently to how the team as a whole is performing which is something I fundamentally disagree with.

Talk now in Chile is that Sanchez is heading to Bayern who offered a €50m fee and €13m a year wages. His agent is currently in Munich discussing the move.

Hard to say what will happen at Arsenal this summer because there is so much uncertainty, but I don't think Sanchez will leave.

Unless he really kicks up a stink, I reckon the club know they need to keep him come what may. And I'm quietly confident Sanchez is too good a man to force his way out.

I would take Costa as part of any deal, they seem to want him out anyway.

Don't know about being the biggest joke but you certainly couldn't take us seriously as a club.

The reality is that sometimes good players leave you regardless of how you perform. If Alexis doesn't want to stay I'd sell him to first best club abroad and bring in a new striker. I don't think we'll end up worse for it as long as we sign someone who can score goals.

Yeah. Problem is those aren't exactly in excess supply in Europe. And why would the few that are out there want to come to this sinking ship?

Reminds me of Wenger saying that in the summer of 2012... and then he did the exact thing he said he wouldn't.

He coincidentally also said he will not sell Alexis and Ozil if they didn't commit to the club, otherwise we can't be taken seriously... history might repeat itself.

Yep, Money and opportunity. Same thing that lured Sanchez here to begin with.

Morata is 24 years old and just scored 23 goals as a substitute for Real Madrid, for instance. Zidane doesn't rate him, and it doesn't look like Zizou is going anywhere any time soon. Arsenal would be a good destination. Even if we don't win anything he'll get regular playing time and development at a big club and it will put him in the shop window for the future.

I don't know how hot of a take this is but I think we'd end up being a better team if we sold Sanchez and bought Lukaku or Morata.

If we sold Sanchez for Lukaku I might cry a little.

Anyway, the point is we should be buying those guys to compliment Sanchez. We will be lucky to replace him never mind making further improvements on top of that.

Sanchez puts us on his back day after day. He has his imperfections, but you're not going to find a guy who delivers so many goals and assists while also playing like a warrior. This is what I would do

Re-sign Sanchez at any cost
give Ozil a reasonable offer
go and get some vulnerable players like Morata, as Klaus described. Or guys who don't earn much in Serie A like Nainggolan.

And do it this month. Show some function ambition.

I can't see any scenario where Arsenal would allow Alexis to leave on a free transfer next summer with the club missing out on £35m-£45m. It makes no sense to me as a fan who only wants the club to do well, and I'm pretty sure it makes even less sense to the corporate suits who run and own the club.

I should add that my first option would be to throw every pound we have Alexis' way, but if he still won't sign then he needs to be sold.

Rex, we need to take the risk if he doesn't sign immediately. Give him a real indication of intent by going big after the Moratas and James's of this world (£120m package deal!!!). And then you can come back and ask him to sign. To be honest, I think we could've done the same with RVP. If we had signed the players we did that summer AND told him he was going nowhere, we probably would've had enough to win the league. United were THAT poor that year.

Zidane doesn't rate him, he can't oust an over the hill Benzema. He's not the guy to come and replace Sanchez.

He outscored Benzema this season with a fraction of his playing time. If Morata had been french he would have played every minute for Real. Their fans are livid over the treatment he has received.

If anything we should thank our lucky star that Zidane is stupid enough to drive Morata away from the club. He's a better player now than Higuain was when he went to Napoli.
