I said a couple of years ago Arteta had built a Rube Goldberg machine of a football team. Somewhat over-engineered and almost totally reliant on all the key parts to be fit and firing to have any hope of working. Well, take out the Odegaard and his machine can’t really function.
We’ve had spells without him where we’ve looked ok. Not great, relative to a title challenging team we’ve been ok. We’ve also had spells with him where we’ve been pretty shit too to be honest. But without him we just don’t look like a functioning team that is going anywhere or has a real plan.
