Despite all the fretting over the international break it sounds like almost everyone is at least in contention to be fit for the weekend according to Arteta. Even Ode doesn't sound like he's 100% ruled out and could be back next week.

Huge boost for the Liverpool game if we can get everyone back.

Yeah, Tomi has a small injury.. But it sounds like there a strong possibility that White, Timber, Martinelli, Havertz Saka could all maybe be available. Im sure they wont all start, even if they are technically available, but getting everyone back healthy is a good thing. If Ode can come back in the next 2 weeks, thats such a bonus.

Overall pretty good - Tierney and Tomiyasu are lost causes but everyone else is in contention to be back in the starting 11 bar Odegaard who may be a week or two away.

We’ve got some tough games coming up so it’s great that Havertz and Partey got to rest their legs these past two weeks with Saka and Martintelli getting a week off as well

Good news this season is we've been absorbing a couple of injuries to very important without showing signs of dropping back too far on results. The squad's depth is looking very good, the lack of a proper alternative to Havertz is arguably our biggest concern.

We'd (or at least I) have said the lack of alternative to Odegaard is the biggest concern before his injury. I still think that's true given that it sort of leads to a different structure to compensate.

I think the reality is between Trossard and even Jesus we'd be fine for a month or two. One of the great things about Kai though seems to be his durability, so hopefully we don't have to find out.

I would have (and did previously) say Øde, but I've changed my tune now. I think we've got bugger all evidence to suggest Tross or Jesus are fit to start at 9 for the moment.

Trossard is fine as a squad player but Jesus has fallen off a cliff. Shame bc the version of him we saw initially is exactly what we need now. He'll be sold this summer and we won't recoup most of his transfer fee.

The frustrating thing for me with Jesus was this has been in the post going into the summer it must have known including him as a player in the squad for this season was going to be a risk as his output hasn't been good enough and he's really struggling with injuries. So the scenario we see now was very much in the likely outcome and a risk to take it without decent recruitment to try to minimise.

awooga83 I know we pushed hard for Sesko and Williams. And failed.
I do wonder to what extent we should’ve gone a step down and looked at other options given the Jesus situation. The risk is you end up with bags of wine like some of the guys playing up front for United - zirkzee etc., who then just become money lost when you want to after your real targets. Difficult balance.

Claudius such a limited worldview. So many options out there that would be relatively modest earners in our squad, not to mention the obvious ones like Gyokeres. City are doing all the legal legwork for us and we don't even take advantage. Bad summer. Said it on deadline day, saying it now, you don't win titles without big, big windows.
