Marca has its title piece on Cazorla saying that doctors at one point told him he should be happy if he could ever walk again. He caught gangrene in his operated leg and was at one point at risk of losing his limb, he's also lost an overall 8cm of tendon

The cover page is especially harrowing, it shows his tattooed forearm skin transplanted on his leg. He's probably my favourite player of the Emirates years but I genuinely would rather see him retire at this point, instead apparently he's hopeful of returning to match fitness in January

I read about the complications from the injury earlier this year and knew immediately that his career was over, but those pictures are still shocking. Jesus christ.

Yeah, I don't think he's going to play even if he gets restored. His right leg is impossibly thin. Just look at that ankle. It'll take years to replace the muscle mass he has lost, never mind the state of that tendon.
