Sicario2 yep. It's fairly hazy, but the way I remember it is Gilbert was really good for his couple of months in the first team, then sustained an injury in that West Ham game in which Sol went nuts and left at halftime.
So then he was out for the rest of that season, then went on loan for the following season, fell out with his coach which showed he had a dodgy attitude and then he had almost no chance at Arsenal thereafter. Upon his return (I think that would have been 07/08) we'd obviously just signed Sagna, had Eboué, and even Burns' favourite Hoyte was there ahead of him (the latter was way shitter talent-wise though).
This all happened because Lauren sustained a major injury at the end of 2005 btw and that ended his time with us.
