it just seems like it would make more sense to make more planned substitutions, rather than waiting until they feel something. You could understand seeing a week of Spurs/Bayern/Chelsea and thinking, Saka either gets 2x 90s here or 3 60s. It's that little push, that over-extension to 2x 90s and a 70, that we all feel in the games themselves, let alone across the whole week. It's obvious when someone is gassed and shouldn't be out there anymore, but he keeps them on. They might get injured in the first half next game, but the damage was probably done by that 10, 20, or 30 extra minutes the game before. I know in this case we didn't see an injury, but we do have a player that looks less than 100% fit who is not impacting games as much as we know he can.
