It's not even a contest in terms of scoring goals. Icardi is a born goalscorer and Giroud is not. I rate the rest of Giroud's game higher though, but I also think they are aspects we don't need to rely so much upon with Özil in the side. It all depends on how Wenger wants to play.
I haven't seen any team stats so I can't explain the low number of shots, but he's not someone who struggles to get an attempt off in my opinion. Inter were a nightmare last season though. It was basically a place where creativity went to die. Mancini was playing Melo and Kondogbia as a midfield. I don't think they created many chances and a striker like Icardi is dependent on others to provide.
