I'd take him. Remains to be seen what his link play is like though, we'll probably still need another good winger if he's as pure a goalscorer as he had shown so far.
Mauro Icardi
Italian Eduardo?

icardi and mahrez for the wing.
Klaus wrote:Pure goalscorer. Doesn't do much holdup or linkup play, doesn't dribble. He needs others to create chances for him, but he's got proper natural instinct in front of goal. He's an archetypical box player with good touch and technique, which is cool because that type of striker isn't really around any longer. He seems unfazed no matter who he's up against too which would be a nice change from the current Arsenal where most players have a panic attack at the mere sight of a defender.
He wouldn't be my first choice but I'd take him ahead of Lukaku and Lacazette and the other halfwits we've been linked to recently.
Exactly my opinion on it. Funny because not that long ago our assessments of him couldn't have been more different
mdgoonah41 wrote:hes a scummy piece of shit. dont want players like him at arsenal
We shouldn't sign Messi either because he's a tax fraud then.
Ditto Suarez the cannibal.
Who needs all these top class players, they're all scum.
Good thing we've only had classy guys play for us like Tony Adams who served time for drink driving, Patrick Vieira who spat at an opponent and Thierry Henry who handballed his way to the World Cup finals.
Let's stick to nice guys who are shit, like Theo.
cheating on your taxes and stealing another guy's wife are on opposite ends of the scummy piece of shit spectrum
Napoli are in for Icardi now , possible replacement for Higuain who looks likely to sign for Juventus if they meet the release clause.

There are 2 different stories going around though, nobody knows the truth.
mdgoonah41 wrote:cheating on your taxes and stealing another guy's wife are on opposite ends of the scummy piece of shit spectrum
stealing? the dude's wife didn't want to be with him and left him for someone that appealed to her more. free will and all that.
Having tattoos of the man's children on his arm is a bit much though ... weird
If anything the fact that Icardi is a bit of a cunt makes him an even more attractive signing for me. We need more of that ilk, players who are cunts on the pitch and are ready to kill to win (Xhaka was a good start towards addressing this to be fair). Most of our lot look more concerned about making friends with the opposition than beating them.
More cunts like Icardi, less pussies like Walcott and we might go back to being a winning club again.
It's off the pitch he's a cunt though.
Quincy Abeyie wrote:It's off the pitch he's a cunt though.
Exactly We need more cunts on the pitch, not a potentially dressing room disruptor.
But like I said, we are running out of options now.
I suppose it would be alright, after all we are not going to get anyone better. That is how it is now.
Not a PL or CL winning player though. We are still fighting for 4th with this guy. IMO.

this sounds about right for Arsenal.
Wenger will be left muttering "zut alors!' under his breath
All the talk about Icardi's "wife-stealing" is a bit off the mark in my opinion. If you've ever seen it happen in real life it's not usually because anyone's a complete bastard. Also unlikely that he'd do it again. If anything I'd suggest the way it all got handled through the press suggests he's not the sharpest, above all else.

As Snoop Dogg said in U Betta Recognize "You know the name of the game. Your girl chose me." Bring in Icardi and tell Ozil and company to up their game lest they'll be loners.

A sign of true dedication to children that aren't biologically his. What a thing to do.
So many people will see that as an act of spite. Hard to deal with for the real dad, but he's got to accept it, there's another father figure in their lives.
He's scored the same amount of league goals as Giroud with nearly half the shots.
It would not help us much if he came here and got to half as many shots and scored the same amount of goals.
If all those chances were created by others then yes, but strikers create the chances sometimes. Giroud movement is very good, but it's not as good as Higuain.
He's 23 the age strikers usually "go up a gear".
Argentinian striker, prolific, trained at La Masia. What could go wrong?

Less than two shots a game is awful though... How much of that is down to him, rather than playing in a defensive side? I get annoyed with Giroud not being able to create chances or room for himself to make a shot, I struggle to believe that all of that difference is due to Arsenal creating more chances than Inter. We did only score 15 more goals than them.
Do Klaus/ other Icardi watchers think he has it in him to be better than Giroud, or would he be back-up for most of next season?
It's not even a contest in terms of scoring goals. Icardi is a born goalscorer and Giroud is not. I rate the rest of Giroud's game higher though, but I also think they are aspects we don't need to rely so much upon with Özil in the side. It all depends on how Wenger wants to play.
I haven't seen any team stats so I can't explain the low number of shots, but he's not someone who struggles to get an attempt off in my opinion. Inter were a nightmare last season though. It was basically a place where creativity went to die. Mancini was playing Melo and Kondogbia as a midfield. I don't think they created many chances and a striker like Icardi is dependent on others to provide.
Guys, just stop it please
Wanda just wanted some extra €€€ on his credit card, he is extending with Inter.
... and so the Italian papers play their part in another wind up Arsenal fans for the higher wages.
This is a regular thing in Italy.
She actually says that they're trying to up his salary without extending his contract.
If our biggest issue was wasting Ozil's brilliance (chances created last year) then I give fuck all if Icardi can create his own chances (a la Giroud). However, we'll need a more stable midfield to compensate for the loss of Giroud's link up play and its hard to imagine Ramsey as part of that midfield unless he tempers himself.
He loves playing and living in Milan. This (Icardi to Arsenal) is a non story. Even this made up story does not mention Arsenal .... hilarious. We can't even be linked with a salary hype.

Melo and Kondogbia has to be the least inspiring midfield pairing since Van Bommel and De Jong
Or Denilson and Diaby.
You clearly forgotten Denilson and Song.

To be fair we tried to sign both Melo and kondogbia, and we signed diary and and denilson.
Van bommel doesn't deserve to be listed with the rest he was actually a good player.

I remember it well.
Denilson is playing in Abu Dhabi now. Rather than alongside Abou Diaby.
A couple of outlets reporting we had a meeting yesterday, including di marzio and corriero dello sport
That's based on Wanda Nara changing her Twitter location to London and saying "its a happy day, my friends". You really think that she's not a cocktease?
Hmm would di marzio report a meeting took place based on her tweet? I think he's hit and miss but that seems like a stretch
In any case its most likely posturing seeing as though he's in the middle of contact negotiations at inter
Di Marzio says loads oh shit tbh As much as i wish we'd be getting a striker, im quite sure we're not buying Higuain or Icardi.
