Schmeichel just did a Buffon. Leicester lucky to be winning tonight at home against a Danish side. Quite incredible.
Champions League 16/17
Schmeichel is a player, isn't he? I thought last season was going to be a one-off for him, but he has just kept on trucking. I think we should take a long look at him next summer.

That was one hell of a save.
Leicester really putting all their energy into their UCL campaign.

He's good but I don't think he's that good.
How's Sczesney doing over at Roma?

tbh they shoulda won 2-0. Perfectly good goal ruled offside. They still have huge problems at corners it's bizarre. Losing Kante shouldn't cause that to happen.
You want Juve to win the CL just so that Buffon will have it in on his CV.
Legendary goalkeeper.

Yep but Copenhagen dominated for 75 % of the match and had big chances to score. Drinkwater is a great midfielder, very underrated, but Andy King is not near good enough for an English Champions League side. They're suffering hugely because they couldn't find a better replacement to Kante than King.
It also looks like port routine has got the better of Vardy this season. I think we dodged a bullet on that one.

He has great reflexes and is a very brave keeper. Looking at how much he's improved over the last 5 years you can only be impressed. His distribution is pretty bad though but he's improving in that aspect of the game aswell.

With Kantè there, they conceded the most goals of anyone from corners in the Premier League last season.

Schmeichel has been a bit shit this season too.
Personally think he, like nearly all other keepers that get raved about, is a good shot stopper with average to poor ability in the other key areas of goalkeeping.
Don't think he's a top keeper but I think Segway and Ricky1985 are underrating Schmeichel's distribution, it's outstanding IMO. Even his long throws are always on point
Yeah, without particularly having studied him, I am usually impressed with his distribution in Leicester games I watch.
Yep, would agree he's also a pretty good distributor.
It's the commanding of his box and general decision making that I think are very average. He's like a slightly poorer version of De Gea.
How does he compare to our very own Martinez who has good height, agility and distribution although i'm not sure about his tendency to punch the ball back into the danger area.

His throws are very good but his distribution with his feet is poor compared to other top keepers. He's improving in that area though.
Can't be much worse than Cech's.
ugh... yeah, Cech's kicking (especially from the ground) is crap...

Don't think King is Kanté's replacement, he seems to have the same kind of utility role as last season. Amartey and Mendy are replacing Kanté.

It was obvious the moment we signed him. Makes me appreciate Szczesny's kicking a little.
Bravo
