Refs are influenced by big names, makes you want to stop watching it.

Arsenal at the allianz arena-level shit.
They could not keep the ball or pass water.
The ref and uefa did not make them forget how to play or put away the 3 other good chances they had to kill the game.
They lost exactly the same way barca lost to them a fortnight ago.
No conspiracies or excuses.
I agree more with PSG coach, Unai Emery, post-match statement.
"The truth is we have let a huge opportunity get away and we are aware of that. In the first-half it was more our fault than them playing well," said Spanish coach Emery whose side trailed 2-0 at the break.
In the second-half it changed. The penalty (first penalty converted by Lionel Messi for 3-0) got them off to a great start, but I was already calmer because I could see the team was responding better, were better positioned on the pitch and could do damage.
We had chances to make it 3-2 and then the refereeing decisions, I don't know if they were right or not, but for sure they damaged us. Then in the last two minutes we lost everything we had recovered in the second-half.
Barcelona are capable of this in their stadium. In the last few minutes they played all or nothing and they have beaten us."

Good post.

Refs are influenced by big teams because their players and fans try to influence them. We always get everything against us because there's fuck all in terms of anger and will power in both stadium and squad.

Messi was the biggest name out there and ref didn't do anything for him in particular.
The ref/big names did not make Verrati/Moura fail to hold onto or pass the ball to teammates.
Neither did they make Cavani take the ball ahead of a free Draxler who would've had an open goal.
Not going to count Cavani's one on one as he adebayors loads of those but the ref/big names did not make Di-Maria fuck-up his.

Suarez should be suspended for the rest of the tournament. Disgraceful player.

PSG completed just 4 passes from 85th minute onwards, 3 of them were from kick-offs.

Their midfield completely collapse and entire team choked at the highest level.

Agree. Should've been 5-1 if not for the dodgy penalty.

🙂

This is the midfield a lot of us were wishing for players from. It's interesting.

Because just a couple weeks earlier the same team completely dominated Barcelona's entire team

I don't find it interesting. I just find this modern game hateful. Once they get a good lead in the first leg, teams quit playing in the second and only try to stave off the opposition and nothing more. Very tedious. It's not a reflection of their ability in the least.

Suarez was booked for diving, had a dive which resulted in a penalty, and yet Neymar on the night was a much bigger culprit when it comes to diving and trying to cheat the referee.
Neymar is a wonderful player and often very exciting to watch, but he is also a massive divey little shit. Almost every time he can he exaggerates contact, and he dives so often it probably even makes Bitey McRacist blush.

Not sure what game you've been watching, on the night Neymar was kicked to pieces by Meunier and it was clear that he was targeted specifically. Was pretty incredible that he played the full 90 without being booked let alone sent off.

I think Rex's point is Neymar embellishes the contact to make a foul look like a hack and it works against him as he was "the boy who cried wolf too often" and the ref ignored most of his dives. An example of this is the soft penalty Suarez won. If that was Neymar, the ref would have waved play on.

For instance, Neymar makes a run to come to the ball. He stops for his first touch, expects a bit of contact in the back, which there always is, then exaggerates that contact and throws himself to the ground. Must have pulled that trick at least 6 or 7 times on that night alone. Actually, he dives on the regular in EVERY game. Disgrace he wasn't booked for it on many, many occasions in this game! That's on the ref though.

I hate to use the word but the guy is an absolute cancer on the game.

He's football's greatest villain. I was there when he denied Ghana a QF place in the 2010 World Cup. From handballs to racism, diving, he has the total package. And he makes it even worse by being so talented. He would just be annoying like Barton if he was talentless

Suarez is indeed a disgrace, but I really don't see how that handball is any worse than every time someone fouls a player through on goal and gets sent off for it.

I hate to play against these Spanish teams, especially in the UCL for the same reason. The european refs always buy their dives.

The El Clasico has been a disgrace for years with all the play acting.

Leicester playing really well. Haven't seen Sevilla struggle this much this season.
