it's crazy.
if we accept that we are not going to get a tier 1 striker (Lewandowski, Higuain, etc.), then we should be aiming for a tier 2 striker like Lacazette. i know this is a very unpopular opinion around here, but yesterday showed why this is critical. yesterday, we put our only super quality outfielder in a sub-optimal role playing as striker. he was useless as striker, plus we also missed his hustle and penetration from deep, as he vacated the wing.
if we'd gone into the game with Lacazette, we would have had an actual no. 9, and also gotten the most out of Sanchez. we really need to close a deal for Lacazette, Icardi or similarly endowed player.
