Doesn't the fact that we need a striker and he is available make us think about paying more than he is worth? I am not exactly set on fire by the guy, but we are never getting a Great striker in a million years. We are not worth the punt for such a valuable commodity as a great striker.

So I say pay more for Lac is we need to.

£35m is already overpaying for him IMO. No way should we spend 50m on this guy. We absolutely need a striker, but this guy isn't worth putting such a big dent into our future transfer funds. Much rather pay 60m+ for someone like James Rodriguez; he isn't the striker we desperately need, but he is a top quality player. I'd rather make do at number 9 with what we have in a scenario like that.

I'd be the opposite way inclined TBH. I'd much rather get a striker who isn't quite as good as we might like than another attacking midfielder who is top class but not really going to change our goal scoring issue a whole lot.

I want you guys to imagine that Giroud gets injured during our match against Southampton on September 10th and we've avoided getting a striker because we don't want to 'overpay' for Lacazette. Chew on that like tobacco.

He consistently scores a handful. Not enough to forego getting a striker IMO. If he joined us or Chelsea I doubt he'd hit double digits. If we get a winger, which is what he'd be here, we need someone who will consistently score 15 or so goals. If we aren't getting a striker that is. If we got a striker I'd love to sign James.
