Don't see why he wouldn't and he should go as hard on him. He gave Boris a torrid time when he was last on his show. Has he ever shown bias towards Torys on his show, if not then why mention his political affiliation? His whole gig is giving tough interviews, if he now goes easy on a candidate his integrity and reputation are both finished. I've seen a few Conservatives on his show in recent weeks and he has rinsed them pretty hard as well.
I think all MPs should face scrutiny from the media. For example we've hardly seen Jacob Rees Mogg for the Torys and hardly seen Diane Abbot for Labour, quite clear both are prone to make gaffs so their parties are limiting their exposure. Personally think that is bullshit, both will end up with big roles if their parties form government so they should be forced in front of the media.
