Smh. I feel for May. I really do. The whole ordeal has been a farce.
Nah, this ordeal in its current form is absolutely her fault. She was put in an awful position to begin with but it was made worse by her farce of an election campaign in 2017. An election where she barely campaigned and expected to win on default because Corbyn was/is unpopular. Secondly, it was her interpretation of 'Brexit' and red lines which were not a part of the initial referendum that spawned the notion of a hard and soft Brexit - or indeed, a no deal Brexit - in the first place. Back in 2016 even adopting a Norway model was basically a no brainer even if it was just seen as an initial landing position. Thirdly, her whole 'tough' negotiation policy alienated the EU right from the start and, more importantly, EU citizens who've lived in Britain for decades - all to appease a minority of backbenchers. Oh and the fact that she refused to hold a cross Parliamentary consultation before she even started the negotiations. She's not some poor fool who got caught up in a mess, she's actively made it worse. Brexit was never going to be an economic success story but she's actively fanned the flames of social division which has got worse, not better, because of her rhetoric.
And don't even get me started on her reign as Home Secretary.
Edit: I look forward to her resignation to be honest, as long as Boris Johnson doesn't chance his way into the role, I can't see anyone doing much worse.
