You're not wrong Burns though that wasn't really the angle I was going for. There's just a certain dark humour to May going all out to appease the arsehole, being the first to go and visit him, offering a state visit, refusing to condemn him, his views or his policies, constantly have to politely bat away his critisims, asks the EU to not retaliate (much) against his trade tariffs, and then finally, when you invite him around with a load of fanfare, the moment you're hoping him to give you a bit of a boost, he trashes you and probably makes your life even more difficult.

What was she expecting? That he'd offer her a supper trade deal and wringing endorsement right after?

Fair point. However, the Tories (though certainly not May more than Johnson) absolutely deserve to be dragged from now until the end of Britain for:

(a) the existence of the Brexit referendum
(b) the result of the Brexit referendum
(c) the triggering of Article 50
(d) the colossal fuckup of the Brexit process

Oh I agree about the Tories, no argument.

I do wonder though at how many who are against Trumpian policies in general, appear to side with him and cheer extra loudly when he humiliates and insults female politicians.
It's definitely a gallery that he play to.

Well if you're wondering about my motivations, you could just ask and then make your own conclusions rather than put out a post that pretty strongly implies where you think my source of joy is coming from, but vague enough that someone can't really respond to it directly. But whatever.

I'm not talking about you specifically goon, even though it's your post that made me ask:

"Why is it that men so fulsomely love when Trump goes all in on female politicians?"

The reason I asked is that because you said
"I actually love that Trump is trashing May and her plan"
and it struck me that this reaction is not uncommon from men even those who are usually very much opposed to him and his policies.

You take it as personal to you - it's not - you didn't answer my general question as you assumed I was making an accusation which was not my intention.

The 'pleasure' is definitely a thing among his supporter base, whether it extends outwards... probably. Thankfully I must say most of the people around me don't seem to think like that, with the exception of one colleague.

Well Trump's walked back the comments made in The Sun interview (fake news).
They're now engaged in a strained afternoon of phony mutual appreciation and respect.

So 4 Labour MPs voted with the government tonight, essentially keeping May and the Tories in power, something 14 of their own MPs voted against. They survived yesterday because Cable, Farron and a few Labour MPs couldn’t be bothered to turn up to vote.

Basically Kate Hoey and co would rather have a hard Brexit than see Labour in government... not sure if their convictions are to be admired or not!
