There's just a certain dark humour to May going all out to appease the arsehole, being the first to go and visit him, offering a state visit, refusing to condemn him, his views or his policies, constantly have to politely bat away his critisims, asks the EU to not retaliate (much) against his trade tariffs, and then finally, when you invite him around with a load of fanfare, the moment you're hoping him to give you a bit of a boost, he trashes you and probably makes your life even more difficult.
What was she expecting? That he'd offer her a supper trade deal and wringing endorsement right after?
