I like how Johnson always waits to make sure he knows which way the wind blows before making a call. He really is a waste of space.

It's going to be absolute chaos till the next election is called from a domestic perspective but the direction of travel to a soft'er' Brexit has been apparent since around last December.

Read earlier that David Davis has only had 4 hours of meetings with Barnier this year. I don't actually blame him for leaving, he's been marginalised and would have been set up to take the blame if he stayed.

Do you think the next election will really resolve anything? I can't see anything other than a hung parliament or at best a small majority for either party, with divisions once again causing chaos, particularly if the Tories win again.

I'm assuming the next election is in 2022 by which point the focus will be back to domestic policy imo. Calling an early election before that date would be entirely pointless for the reasons you mentioned.

He ducked the Prime Ministership when Brexit was happening, now he's ducking Cabinet with Brexit not happening. No gumption.

I actually love that Trump is trashing May and her plan, serves her right for pandering to him so much.

Beggars belief that anyone is pinning their hopes on a trade deal with the US under Trump given how he’s dealt with every other trade deal since he’s come to power.

Fair point. However, the Tories (though certainly not May more than Johnson) absolutely deserve to be dragged from now until the end of Britain for:

(a) the existence of the Brexit referendum
(b) the result of the Brexit referendum
(c) the triggering of Article 50
(d) the colossal fuckup of the Brexit process

Personally I don't like Trump's comments, whatever the current government deserve, because he's practically speaking on behalf of Farage and Johnson. Althoigh luckily Trump's approval rating here is quite low so it may not shift public opinion much.
