It didn't though. It happened years ago and no one cared. This is something dragged up now to cause hysteria due their Coachella Palestine/Israel graphic. They're a comedy rap group who are playing characters of over the top Northern Irish Republican stereotypes. They are taking the piss out of people like that. Watching a genocide happening before their eyes seems to have blurred the lines a bit when it comes to that but honestly I find it hard to condemn them for their approach given the amount of shit going the other way. Its no coincidence they push harder on this stuff in US than at home too. This is the second case since Coachella where the British police have tried to dig up something they've said to charge them with.

"Their" money indeed. I don't see why three guys from the UK who are against the Government and what they stand for should be any less entitled to public money than anyone else in the country. There will be tens of thousands of people across all sectors of society who hate the Government (whichever of the day) and all they stand for, but are entitled to and benefit from public money. I don't see why Kneecap should be any different.

The irony of course is their Irish Republican views, but that's quite irrelevant given they are UK citizens.

What exactly is the comparison here? Israel and Hamas are at war with each other. They are both doing despicable things to each other. Then you have some bloke who goes in and stabs a bunch of random kids at a summer camp. Do you I need to check with you what I am and not allowed to outraged by?

I guess what I'm saying is I don't get why anyone derives enjoyment from what, all things considered, amounts to a media pile-on in support of the Israeli state at the hour its last scrap of moral credibility has expired. It seems tricky to do without bankrupting yourself morally into the bargain.

I'm not a fan myself but then I never liked the Clash much either. Used to love Morrissey, who famously recorded the B-side "Margaret on the Guillotine", but sadly he turned out to be a dreary fascist.

Irish group says MPs should be killed. I suspect the pile on by UK media is driven much more by anti-Republican sentiment, especially where they are so aggressively vocally anti-establishment, than it is by any pro-Israel regard.

Tam Very true. These things go together though, much like the United Kingdom, the Balfour Declaration, settler-colonial logic, and being very well practised at acting like you haven't had any hand in generations of carnage overseas.

Tam normally I'd agree but they said this 2 years ago and no one cared until they got a lot of press for their pro-Palestine, anti-Israel stuff. They had the anti-Republican stuff when they won the case over the arts council money but these comments about the MPs were before that and weren't brought up then. This is very much in retaliation to their Coachella set that got so much attention. They tried first to find some way to prosecute them for the Hezbollah stuff but when they failed they dug this up.

6 votes in it! That was Labour's 16th most safest seat in the country. Reform have also one mayoral election and run Labour close on others, expect we see a big shift in Labour messaging soon. This will make a lot of Labour MPs very nervous.

Massive day for Reform, recently the spat with Lowe was all over social media but shows in the real world nobody really cares about that. People are very annoyed with the current mainstream parties and Reform are filling that void. I'm not entirely convinced they'll do much better but clear people are sending a message.

Conservatives are also probably going to be wiped out soon with the way they are going. Be interesting to see if the Lib Dems and Green can pick off some of the voters Labour and Tories are losing.

I don't think those policies are generally what is driving support towards Reform but will certainly help them eat into a lot of Labour heartlands. Last election was a protest vote against the Conservatives not a big endorsement of Labour. Neither of these two parties are trusted by the public and if people see someone who can give them a kicking they'll vote for them.

As for Corbyn, I know you're a big fan but a lot of left wing people I know didn't even like him. This isn't some conspiracy to keep him out, he just isn't very well liked apart from left leaning activist groups

This fascist threat on the horizon bollocks is just tired at this point ffs. Two ways this plays out - more likely scenario is these animals control the government and on account of their endless ineptitude and idiocy they manage to for once evoke the right pictures in the minds of their disabled followers and fumble their support for good. Not even saying this because I despise them, their programme is so insane it's impossible even for their far right support in the media to whitewash into something that's not going to cause the economy to crash out.

Other scenario they do fuck up and the populace wants to crawl up their arse even further into full fledged fascism. At least we can then do away with the charade and I can go full meatwad on them
