Giaccherini is criminally underrated. Plays for relegation battlers almost all of his career but puts out these world class performances on the reg for the NT. Doesn't even matter if he plays on the wing, in CM or as full back

Italy have a few of those guys, which I find interesting. Florenzi and De Rossi spring to mind too, and Candreva to a lesser degree. To them it matters less where they play. They're good enough technically to cope anywhere on the field and intelligent enough to alter their game depending on which role they are asked to play. It's almost antithetical to modern football where so much is about positional specialists.

He rejected quite a number of clubs after that stellar season with Marseille to go to Mexico because it has always been a dream for him to live in Mexico since young.

It's weird but Mexico actually do produce quite a number of decent strikers from the league.

Decent strikers where? in Mexico? cuz there are very few that really produced outside of Mexico.... Vela and Chicarito.. and............... Borgetti? i mean, you could go with Hugo Sanchez, but that was decades ago.. (and he was head & shoulders above everyone else that's ever played for Mexico)

A lot of decent South American strikers have played there actually. Jackson Martinez, Chucho Benitez, Enner Valencia, Salvador Cabanas, etc. The attacking play is just about the only thing worth watching in Mexican football, tactically it's a mess and the amount of cheating and play acting is extremely over the top

Yeah. I am always surprised when plays come out from that league and perform well elsewhere. Raul Jimenez is another striker who is doing extremely well in Europe.

The Liga MX's standard is not as low as one would think. It's easily as competitive as the Brazilian league which is probably the best league outside of europe.
