This is where you can discuss celebrity deaths, scandals, news and views. Same rules as normal threads, no slander, etc

When you say no slander what exactly does that mean.

Nothing that could get Deschamps to sue us?

Yeah like if you are going to say Brian Synger is a paedophile just make sure someone else has said it first.

Well, Anton Yelchin died. Quite sad, he hadn't had a great role yet that I've seen, but he seemed a real talent.

The circumstances around his death are weird.

Yelchin's friends became alarmed because he was supposed to meet them hours earlier for a rehearsal. They went to his San Fernando Valley home at around 1 AM and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox pillar, which was attached to a security gate.

Law enforcement tells us the engine was running when his body was discovered, and the car was in neutral. The driveway was on a fairly steep incline. It's unclear why he got out of the car.

Cops do not suspect foul play.

I saw it on the tv ticker earlier. Sad news. Him and Karl Urban were the only two new Trek actors I liked. He played a good Chekov.

It's a pretty horrible sounding way to die.

It sounds almost like suicide, but too implausible—I suppose he might've somehow left the car running to open the security gate and then had a brake failure.

Too unreliable for a suicide I think. Sounds like a freak accident.

Seemed like a nice guy. I liked 3 or 4 of his films from around 2006-2008. 'Fierce People', 'Alpha Dog', 'Charlie Bartlett' and 'Middle of Nowhere'. From his later stuff '5 to 7' was pretty ok too. Sad.

CHRIS EVANS HAS QUIT TOP GEAR.

Felt apt to put that in caps in his honour. Haven't watched any of the new season since the first episode, was he as bad as the critics suggested? Could never stand him personally, even since the days of The Big Breakfast on C4.

Mustn't have been sexist and racist enough for the Top Gear audience.

I watched a couple of episodes - he was irritating but less so than the 3 relics that he replaced.
No chemistry between himself and Le Blank, who to be fair is a damn good driver.

You can say a lot about those three relics, and BBC were right to fire Clarkson, but they had an amazing chemistry.

Probably, but at least a person who har zero interest in cars (me) could watch an episode without falling asleep. I can't now.

Works out well though, now that Chris Evans has taken all the flack, no one who comes in will have to suffer in comparison to Clarkson

He's the Top Gear Moyes.
