Yeah, I guess he never really wanted to leave and it was all about seeing how much more money he could extract from them. And presumably to see which big clubs came in and when it was only us he wasn't interested, which possibly says a lot about how we're seen at the moment.

He probably did. Nothing wrong with that to be fair. It's how things work. Leicester obviously weren't going to pay him top wages back in February before they'd won the league, and they weren't going to extend his contract again three months later out of kindness. Vardy and his agent played this well.

Failing to sign a player isn't embarrassing. Its what happens on the pitch that embarrasses or doesn't. Failing to sign Vardy wouldn't be even slightly embarrassing for us if we win the league without him. Not signing out field players last summer became incredibly embarrassing when we finished 2nd to Leicester and spurned our best shot at the league title in over a decade.

We've signed far, far better players from Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea in the last 3 windows as well as Xhaka who jumped at the chance to sign for us from another CL team, this complex some of you guys have going on about not being able to sign a player from Leicester needs to stop.
