Yeah maybe. Only going by what I read at the time, didn't see the actual interview. Similar to how I'm going by what I read about his most recent comments. Maybe it was in a different context, but can't say its important enough to go back and look for the video.
Anyways it's not like Wenger is always truthful when it comes to transfers, almost other things. He tells us what he wants us to hear and quite frequently has his words betrayed by his actions.
It seemed likely this won't happen for a while now as all reports seem to have indicated this was off quite some time ago. I'm more inclined to think it won't happen based on his past dealings in the transfer market than anything he could possibly say.
