I wonder if monreal has been kicking for a move back to Spain. There are transfer stories every window. If he wants a move and he's 30 now I guess it makes sense xx

I'm pretty sure most clauses work like that. Was the case with Draxler in the past when we were interested couple seasons ago and most leaked transfer documents also have timeframes of a couple weeks only in which a clause can be met

I guess it's a way of having a bit of control and reducing the uncertainty.

teams could definitely exploit it if there was no time frame for activating. bayern could wait till the last day of the transfer window and activate the clause, meaning they'd have no time to find a replacement.

No, he just recently gave an interview, saying that he's extremely happy here and definitely plans on staying for a few more seasons.

If we're after Ricky it probably means we're just thinking long term, replacing Gibbs and adding a mate to Xhaka.

Xhaka is a roommate with Ricky at the camp and his social media has included several pics of them together over the past week. They seem to have quite a bromance going.

Is Rodriguez really that good? I've seen him banging in a few freekicks over the years and whipping in some good crosses but is the rest of his game really up there with he best in the position?

Real Madrid were reportedly rebuffed when they approached Bayern for Alaba, if they do really want a new left back and Rodriguez is available at a relative snip, it bugs me a little that they're not interested.

Just not sure on him.

It's more likely that they're trying to upgrade Casemiro, even though he's been really good this season.

If a good man's Baines is up to your liking, yeah he is good.

I think he is easily top 10 in Europe and there are only a few like Gaya, Alaba, Marcelo etc I would have ahead of him.

But they are interested, his father even mentioned them by name in the past.

hes definitely an upgrade on gibbs and is potentially a world class LB. wenger tends to do well evaluating fullbacks, for all his other flaws. debuchy is really his only big miss in recent memory. chambers is still to be determined. ric rod is like 7 years younger than monreal. he can come this summer and they can rotate next season and then ric rod can slowly become first choice
