Reports have claimed that Danilo is among the options being considered by Arsene Wenger to replace Bacary Sagna, who has confirmed he is leaving Arsenal on a free transfer.
However, Danilo is prepared to leave his future in the hands of Porto and the right-back will wait to see if there are any offers to leave
"I'll say what is usually said, I am contracted until 2016," the 22-year-old told ESPN Brazil.
"I am playing at Porto and have been playing well, which makes you get linked with top clubs."But there is a big difference between that and an offer that Porto accepts. I am happy at the moment and I am prepared to return to Porto.
"If something good for everyone comes along, we'll sit down, but for now it is just speculation."

I like Danilo but I'm not sure how he'd do here. Honestly think Aurier makes more sense, but who really knows.

Danilo is certainly the wrong FB to get from Porto; their LB Alex Sandro looks a world class player in the making IMO. Having said that, Danilo is not a poor player at all.

He also hinted the waiting game is re: Benzema at Real.

Its actually not surprising. As Real wont let him go before they can sign a bigger target (Suarez etc.) so i see no reason to get outraged. Finding a striker with higher quality than Giroud and expecting the team to be ready to sell a week into the window would be unrealistic.

Two things. First, other strikers are available. Second, we also need a dm, rb, gk and a winger. Dithering until the end of Aug is not the right strategy, no matter how much you rationalize it.

You really interpret 'nothing is imminent' as no striker is imminent? Just because he gave benzema/morata as examples? Ok, we'll see. I doubt we'll sign anyone bwfore the world cup.

Should we just buy players for the sake of things? R.Madrid aren't talking of selling, Berlusconi is saying he wants Balotelli to stay. Looks like Costa to Chelsea was wrapped up months ago so it doesn't really leave us with many options at all.

If for example Suarez is sold to R.Madrid then they'll probably look to sell and then Liverpool will look to buy. So those clubs who do want to sell will want to market their players then rather than now where there isn't much interest.

In reality there is only one player (that we are supposedly interested in) we'd have to wait for and that is Benzema. Everyone else is more or less available.

If you want to go all post modernism on this topic, then all transfer debates are pointless. My knowledge is, as everyone else on this forum, based on what we consider reliable reports, clubs' past behavior and statements from players and clubs.

You asked "Should we just buy players for the sake of things?" Are you claiming, implicitly, that none of our targets are available atm? How exactly do you know that... blah.

We are hopeless in terms of transfers. We do nothing to upset players making them join us, we often don't bid for what we want, but just what is available.

I don't really care what he says. He can't be out there like Dr Dre on YouTube prematurely announcing deals and alerting Mourinho to our next move. He could say we will get nobody or we could get 3 strikers. Don't care. What matters is what Wenger does. And with 3 more years for his project, who knows how under pressure he will feel?
