And we'd be a top outfit again

Ofcourse none of this will happen though

I know you're big on him Dules, but he hasn't been setting the world on fire (1 goal this season). I'm not convinced he's an upgrade over what we have at the moment. If anything, I would like to see a left footed player like Gaitan or Shaqiri as an option out wide for the attack.

Schneiderlin
Cabaye
and Pedro

Don't think we need Cabaye or Pedro. Bring in Schneiderlin and Hummels ASAP. Then bring in a proper striker.

We haven't had a player as powerful as Hummels since Sol. The sort of player where everytime he goes in a bit harder you worry he's broken the other guy's leg.

We aren't going to be a top outfit with Cabaye and Schneiderlin as our midfield options. We once had French midfielders who played in a World Cup winning side. Cabaye and Schneiderlin struggle to play for a much weaker French side.

Those two are more of the same. Bog standard battling for fourth players.

Signing Vidal and Pogba would be a much different proposition.

Kike doesn't think we're in for Laporte, a shame really as think the kid could one of the best in a few years time. Already playing a very high level and the type of players we should be looking at.

If the kid is already playing like a top class CB and will only get better then it makes perfect sense. There's a reason Bayern and Barca were sniffing around him in the summer, act now or a top club will snap him up and then you'll never get a chance.

No-one who has less than 100 appearances in top level football, and at a decently strong club in Spain can be considered top class.

Plus he is playing in a completely different environment.

I don't care how well he is playing for At. Bilbao in Spain.

Bringing a 20 year old to England straight into a young and under fire squad is not going to take us to where the fans want us to be.

No. Varane is obviously talented, but you have to consider the environment he is currently playing. He is a kid playing at a club full of leaders and champions. It's like when Ashley Cole broke through at our club. You're talking about one kid within an entire squad. He is going to be well looked after both on and off the pitch.

Now imagine placing Varane in a defence where he's got Bellerin and Chambers to his right which is a very plausible scenario and that prospect is unfortunately entirely different.
