Cahill for me is a player who wouldn't suit our system. Chelsea are set up in a more defensive and compact manner but when he first signed and Chelsea played a more open game he looked badly exposed. I don't know too much about Reid if I'm being honest.
We've been linked with Aymeric Laporte by the Standard in January, I would be over the moon with that type of signing. Guy has the potential to be one of the best CBs in world football. Reads the game well, passes out the back well and is super quick, a combination that very few have. Having that extra pace would mean we could play a higher line which we can't with Per in the team. Would be around £30m to sign him but for a 20 year old with that potential I think he could be worth the gamble. Per has turned 30 and Koscielny is approaching 30 so we need to look long term. I'd rather we sign someone young who can be eased into the team rather than be in a position where we desperately need a first choice and throw them in. He's tipped to be a starter for France soon and he is still improving.
