lorddulaarsenal Would love this. He's as close to Havertz as there is out there in my opinion but I also think he has some untapped potential as a finisher that he hasn't been able to show as much at Bologna where they rely on him to do a lot of the creation as well. The thing that sticks out to me with Zirkzee is how he moves with the ball. He's 6-4 but he honestly moves a little more like Gabriel Jesus than someone of his stature. I love how agile he is for his size while also still using his strength to hold off defenders.

Was thinking this the other day.. seem a bit strangely proportioned lol.. tall, but with relatively short legs which probably works in his favour as a dribbler..

I like him, don't think his is that killer Infront of goal, which is probably the biggest area that needs work, but has a lot of potential.. would definitely take if price is reasonable.

Qwiss forward market is wrecked Qwiss. Ask United. You have to jump on these guys before they fully mature if you believe they have potential.
Zirkzee's price also has a further complication. Bayern have a 40m Euro release clause and a 40% transfer fee share. So Bologna will be eager to maximise

Anyway if we are splashing big on a youngster I'd rather go for Ferguson who's even younger and has PL experience.

Qwiss if Ferguson is fit, I’m interested. He looked good when he played. Again, small sample size. Lots of prayer and faith.

yes. 6'4" with the leg length of someone 6'. perfect for an attacker in tight spaces. havertz drives me crazy because of his inability to operate smoothly with those long legs.

Meatwad Yep that's a great point about his legs Doc.

While he's not a killer in front of goal, I do like the examples of his ball striking from this season. Hard, low finishes to the corner that he hits without a lot of backlift. His contact on the ball is clean too which is something I've been focusing on a lot recently after watching so much of Havertz and Jesus's subpar ball striking where a lot of their shots are scuffed.

My comment on his finishing getting better is only due to how he's being used at Bologna, where he has a lot of responsibility for buildup in addition to scoring goals. I don't think he's ever going to lead the league in goals but could see him growing into the type of goal scorer that Isak is looking like this season.

Let's not forget that Isak had the same output concerns coming from Sociedad and that was a big reason why a lot of Gooners were undecided on him despite his awesome talent and physique.

Meatwad it’s the speed that gets me with Havertz. Think of his incredible strength and movement and how he’s constantly getting free from defenders. And then he can’t separate.

samthegooner Tbf Isak had a season of very good output with 17 league goals the season before his last Sociedad one. So while there were worried since the following season wasn't as impressive, I wouldn't say they were quite the same since Isak had already proven himself capable in a top league.

QuincyAbeyie he’s also someone who we’ve been following for 6 or 7 years now. Good technical level. Very experienced. I remember when he and Odegaard had a memorable game versus Real Madrid back in 2019. Ode was still in the Real wilderness out at Sociedad. They both scored, Isak some pearls. The talent has always been evident. The consistency needed to come.
Where we are, we can’t gamble too much. A guy like Isak could give us a lot of qualities if he’s available.

Isak would be the biggest gamble of them all in my mind given his well-known and recurring availability issues. He's almost never started more than 25 league games a season (once in the last 5 years). Even this season, he's on 21 starts with 32 played. While he is undoubtedly the most talented of the potentially available lot, I'd much rather go for a more durable player, even if not quite as complete a package. Any chance Vlahovic is still available given the terrible season Juve are having?

I thought the Gabriel slander was one thing wanting him replaced with Diomonde, but then swapping Saliba with Pacho for a Pacho and Diomonde CB pairing? That has to be a joke, surely.

People have some strange ideas when it comes to improving our team trying to replace the likes of our CBs while we still have huge holes in midfield, CF and LB to fill.

Qwiss artetas idea of improving our attack always seems to start from the back. I've kind of given up on fighting it ever since we spent so much of our budget on white instead of finalising our midfield - something we're still waiting on. would not surprise me in the slightest if we spend big on another CB or FB. I remember the fan narrative was slowly turning against white when we signed timber, but with timbers injury, white avoided becoming yesterdays hero like ramsdale. also wouldn't be surprised to see someone like gabriel on the outs with supporters next season if we get another CB

Kiwior can replace Saliba if needed.

Kiwior is more a natural Gabriel replacement but I don't think Kiwior has done enough to show he can play as our CB and even his recently LB performances have dipped massively. We need another big dominant CB, if nothing else to keep Saliba and Gabriel on their toes.

I thought he looked pretty good in the run in last year once he eventually replaced Holding. I don't think Saliba or Gabriel would look too graceful as fullbacks either. That he's done a pretty decent job of it is a good sign.

We've also got White, Tomi and Timber who can all play in that 'back 3' set up. We need one more in the back line just for numbers probably but it shouldn't be a big buy unless FFP is a non-issue.

JazzG has Kiwior had much opportunity at CB? I wasn't that high on him before but I think his run in the team has shown he's capable and his flexibility is a nice bonus. I wont cry if we move him on but I think investing in a better centre half rather than other areas would be a waste of time and money.
