Claudius hey @Claudius, how you been man?
Agreed. Your points pretty much are what I was arguing, that we changed something up in terms of how we set out in December where we played well despite the losses, and have been a lot more aggressive in our press and movement. These are things we'd complained about earlier in that we seemed to be much more static and less likely to see players interchanging and swapping around. Even when compared to when Havertz, Trossard or Jesus were starting earlier on in the season.
This could have been completely tactical, or could gave been as a result of not being able to field Zinchenko and having to readjust our game instead of always looking for him. But either way, there is a stark difference to how we set up previously with Havertz and the other strikers compared to how we do currently.
But yeah, Nketiah is not the answer to any question, and he may be used here and there but we need much more, that I am convinced.
Also the point about people giving up in early January that the season was over, it's not that people didn't think we could play better or that we'd be able to win more games than not if we play like we did against West Ham, it's that we were out of the FA Cup, we lost 3 games on the bounce and went from being in the lead to 5 points or so behind. Did we see the team playing better and winning more games if we continued to play like against West Ham? Yes. Just didn't see us winning every game since then in such a large manner including against Liverpool. That's given us a lifeline. We still have a difficult task ahead of us, but this run has put us back in the mix. Worry is, were at the top of our game now and winning large, whereas Liberpool and City have been gringing out wins despite not looking as good as us. They may be getting through their tough periods. What happens when we have our not so dominant period?
